i know most ppl will not be happy about what i have to say.. but.. possible.. i think if your serious about having a good full time club.. you should think about having levels of member ship.. maybe 1 basic.... its free.. you get access to forums and online stuff.. and say gold, it costs a small fee.. you get say a sticker, and a skylines australia memmbership ID card, which gets you discounts on stuff.. like at car places... ya know.. im only suggesting this.. not saying it has to be done...

and not on back windscreen, i just put my nismo sticker there yesterday.. maybe on the front right up top... ohwell.. if anyone has any ideas on the sticker.. post them.. that way.. we can finally have a poll before production on the stickers.. and we can make the majority happy

I vote for a simple:

sticker where people can put where they choose, but recommended to be put on top of rear windscreen for uniformity.

Also, I WHOLE HEARTEDLY vote AGAINST different levels of membership.

The forums and Website will always be free!!

So far we ae thinking about 2 levels of membership, we will post more info about them when we get it.

With my MysFit stickers, I had 2. 1 that just had 'www.mysfit.com' and 1 which was the logo. they both came in 2 different sizes. If we incorporate the URL into the logo, we wont need to have 2 styles.

should do.

Merli, what about associate members and full members who own skylines. the more i think about it, the more i like the idea of just one type of membership. has a sense of unity. anyhoo, this isn't the place to discuss this topic. take it to theAustralian Club thread

I doubt that will happen.

Once we start selling stuff to the public, we start paying a shite load more for the club registration and then our taxes come into it..

The club will remain entirely non-profit which means that we wont be selling merchandise.

Hey guys & girl just a word of warning for us all to take note of if we are going to display the SAU sticker on our cars it will mean we will have to watch how we drive meaning NO :burnout: or any silly SH*T because with the club name on display it will give the club undue attention from the police & public media groups which is the last thing we need is bad PR ok ppl

I don't know if I speak for others & IMHO but if for any reasion you are seen or reported to the club by means of driving out side the Road rules you shall be asked why you should still be allowed to be a member of the club. (This Is Only A Idea Of A Guide Line Feel Free to Chop It Up As It Is How I Think)

Sorry to put a damper on the idea but it is just some thing to think about :uh-huh:

& prank yeah thats true with the merchandise, I think if ppl want shirts or jackets made, one or two people should handle it for the hole of Australia & have a thread for orders & have a closing date for the orders to be in, mabe a shirt & a nice SAU Jacket just a though :headspin:

Not meaning to butt in on this, but i'm pretty sure that the

majority of our cars have been modded in one way or another

(read RICE) hence turning them into defects. :uh-huh:

Would stuff like this make the club look bad? :innocent:

I guess every other club with have cars that are modded??

I dunno, just want to see what you guys think about this.

XrSiSt, in my opinion, defects and stuff like that are usually unfair and nothing more than modified cars getting picked on...I don't think the club would look down on members who get stuck with a defect.

However, if the cops turn up at an illegal street race, and every Skyline there has a "Skylines Australia" sticker on the window...well that's hardly going to make the club look good is it :)

We're not all angels, but bringing the club to the attention of the cops in that kind of circumstance, will NOT be looked upon favourably. It's not the image we want to have as a club.

    • Probably a smart choice to buy one vs build, purely for the motivation part as you said! Imagine the metal dust everywhere from grinding all the steel to build one. Ha ha ha!   Also, post a photo of your garage.   Mine is below, this is where I've been cleaning and have already half filled a caged 6*4 trailer. And this is after my cleaning expedition mentioned previously... The middle normally has a car in it, but I'm dumping things in the middle as I sort through them. And poor skyline was dusty and has had the lightest few drops of rain and now it looks atrocious and needs to be dragged back out and washed thoroughly! And yes to the right is technically another bay, you really can only see 2 bays out of 3 in this picture.
    • It's more like on average the things I see a lot of things going wrong. Yes, usually the people who reach out are the ones who are having problems but on average it feels like mechanics and tuners here aren't really competent. I swing between thinking my standards are just way too high and wondering whether people really are just this dumb. I just had the strangest 10+ reply argument on a Facebook group over someone insisting that the factory R34 GTT boost control solenoid reduces boost pressure to 5 psi when it's on and raises boost pressure to 7 psi when it's off despite showing the exact plumbing in the factory service manual and the solenoid behavior detailed in the FSM.
