you already asked this like a week ago didn't you and no replies..

Probably because nobody knows of anywhere.. I'd be interested myself, as at the moment I have 2x RB20DET's in my cars and wouldn't mind a bit of a tune around.

You could get a dyno chart of "before" (with A/F charts), send it down to either toshi or dr_drift then get it sent back chipped. Cost is usually around $200-$400

I checked out my dr drift chip and it had the stock fuel map and a ignition map that looked a lot like another map we downloaded of the net.

:(...mmm that doesnt sound good:(

The Chiptorque agent in NSW Silverwater Automotive Services do it, my friends S14 vmade tip top power and ran a dream, ie drove like a std ECU and it was tuned by SAS...so i would suggest talking to Chiptorque in Brisbane.

It worked out to be about $750-850 for the tune...but you get what you pay for.

There is a Chiptorque down here in Nerang also.. Didn't think of those guys. I keep associating them in my head with just sticking prepackaged chips into rexes and holdens - but obviously they offer more.

$700-$800 sounds a bit scary.. bit cheaper than an aftermarket though, and then u have to pay tuning on top.

Guess I better do all the mods b4 sticking the RB25 turbo on the Passage and getting it tuned :D

That was an estimate based on fuel and ignition tune, removal of boost / speed cuts etc etc. It included dyno time and burning the chip, but of course if it took an extra hours dyno time it could cost $130 more.

If you know what you are after and that youwotn be doing any more mods then it is well worth it, but if you are going to need a tune after more mods aftermarket ecus start to look cheap.

Dont discoutn Chiptorque agents, in NSW/Queensland they are involved in lots of horsepower hero cars etc :D

I am interested to know more about this and your opinions.

Also I am interested to hear from anyone who has had their R32 RB20DET/RB25DE ECU remapped in Melbourne and where.

  • 4 weeks later...

theres a lot of r32 images on the ztech forums....

once you have the ecu resocketed, anyone who can burn eproms and knows how to tune can do it. there is some software around to do it, most of it is still in development (like mine)

My chip totaly changes fuel and ignition timing map.

eg; R33 auto is 18 kw more than std map at 7psi (std boost) and 32kw more than std map at 10 psi. If some one interstd I will send map. Cost $200. If you are not satisfied with the product, ill be able to refund.

Hi Toshi, I can't PM you for some reason. I am interested in having my ECU remaped soon, as my engine is being rebuilt at the moment.

My car is a 1995 (Dec) R33 Nissan Skyline series 1.5 - with the following mods -

Apexi GT spec FMIC, Jasma 3.5" exahaust (with 4" tip), Blitz Dual SBC electronic Boost Controller (older version/ maybe 1st one released? I will check the part no. & get back to you), New Apexi SAFC 2 (Lmt.Edit), new HKS SSQ BOV, new Walpro 500hp/255l/hr intank fuel pump, new Monza High Per. fuel Regulator with gauge. The engine internals are GTR conrods, ACL Race Bearings, Maule Forged pistons. I am looking at having the fuel/boost limiter cut & the speed cut. I also am looking at getting a little more rwkw, but keeping the boost down as I have a standard turbo. I won't put it past 10-12 psi. I will try to send you a PM, regarding the turbo, as I havn't heard yet if I need to replace it. If you can give me a rough quote for a changeover ECU to suit the car with a standard turbo & and with a new GarrettGT28 (which is what I will put on it, if needed), it would be greatly appreciated. I will get back to you tomorrow about the Blitz EBC & the turbo

Cheers, Chris

    • Dry sump? Is that like where you don't put oil in, and leave the car parked in the garage because it's worth so much now and is like a beautiful museum piece? 😛
    • Nissan Fuga Y50 2009 VQ35HR 313 hp / 230 kW RWD Also sold as Infiniti M overseas. Performance sedan built on the same chassis as Skyline V36 or Infiniti FX. Great colour with a fantastic velour interior. Very quiet and fast car (<6s 0-100), but can also be very economical for performance (long-term average consumption 11/100 km) I imported it five years ago, and it was well looked after. It has a full service history and a balance of ACT rego. There are no finance or PPSR issues with the car. Has all the features you'd expect from a luxury car. ABS brakes Stability control Traction control Dual-zone climate control Power and memory front seats and steering column Power passenger ottoman Smart key access Push button start 2 parking cameras Steering wheel audio controls Adaptive radar cruise control AFS aiming headlights Xenon HID headlights Security system Original Nissan remote start system Two original keys Dual-channel dashcam Blackvue 750 with PowerMagicPro for battery-aware parking recording Regularly serviced with a lot of major items done: Full new original Nissan suspension shocks throughout Performance CSF radiator Recent tyres, less than 10k on them New drive belt New bonnet struts Brakes recently done The car comes with a fully converted AV system with Australian GPS maps, DVD, and radio ($2k job). I really love this car, but I have too many cars and too many Nissans in the family, so unfortunately, I need to sell it. Priced at $18500 The car can be seen in Curtin. Thank you for your attention.
    • Here are a few photos.  The car is auction grade 4.5B and a genuine 1 owner car, as far as I can tell...  It has a full service history with only 31,000km in it.  I'd love to put a midpipe and tune on it but I am thinking that I'll retain its originality.
    • I can be grumpy!  After owning one of the first GTRs in the country, I was bitten by the nostalgia bug and started the hunt for a GTR again.  While I could have bought a car locally, I wanted to experience the search for a car in Japan and bidding at auction.  The above videos document my experience to date and hope forum members find them interesting and informative.  I was after a low mileage, completely stock car in the launch colour and am pretty stoked with what I got!
