Will be interesting to see. I've been with RACV since i started driving and rating 1, so maybe i should try them for my new car.

Its a GTS-T and modified so probably not but it can't hurt to see what they say. I mean if they lost a 7 year customer in me because they won't insure an import, they'd have to think a bit.

Anybody tried an insurance broker? They basically ring around and do all the work for you for a nominal charge. They'd know how the insurance scene works so they might be able to get you a good deal that you might not be able to get by ringing around yourself.

I'm even thinking that why doesn't an insurance company come along and actually make you do an advanced driving test or check before they insure to give you lower premiums (or even just cover at all!). Do all this extra stuff for an import if they think they're so much more dangerous and harder to drive. I'd be willing to do all of that, and a weekend of testing/etc to get $500 less premium (or more) a year. I just wish they won't so corporate and set in their formulas and their ways.

www.famousinsurance.com.au i think

speak to robyn say ur about to become a member (paying member) and u will get a discount.

im still waiting to get my quote from RACV before i call them.

PS. MODS are not a problem providing u tell them that u have them and they are LEGAL im pretty sure...

I rang this lovely lady.. But unfortunately she can't match the price I'm paying at this point in time. Which is a bummer.

Plus she said they don't insure people under 20 but were going to squeeze me through if the quote was good.

It was about $1000 more than what I'm paying now. So I think I might just stay with Suncorp.
