OK guys,

I got my car tinted at Tint-a-car Doncaster yesterday (couldn't wait, sorry!). I asked them about group pricing and they said 10 cars would be looking at $200-250 for Formula One - and they can remove old tint. They can also do 20% (as opposed to 35% normally).

What do you reckon?

ROFL @ Tint Professor add on late night TV... I wouldnt let a place that makes cheap late night adds touch my car LOL

As for the $120 from Autobarn... thats probably the stuff you put on yourself....

I got mine done at Premier Tint in Dandenong on Chelthenam rd and its about $230. My windows have been tinted for over 4 years and they are still in top condition.. highly recommend them

he had it done there and has had 4 doors, rear quarters and rear screen done. Seems too cheap to me though. Might check again and see if he was pulling random figures.

my mate and i are ready about now so i need numbers soon...

please either post or pm me your details such as mobile numbers so i can get the group buy happening or i am gonna go ahead without a group buy without the savings..once i get numbers i will post the prices for each company...

cheers..

i'm in on the condition that i'm able to get there - i'm a learner, my mother can't drive manual, and my father's overseas. therefore my mother will also have to be free at the time. a saturday would be great if possible.

If we can get around 10 cars it would be great. I will wait a few more days for numbers then start negotiating.

Thanks for the interest guys.

JetDat - I know you need numbers to start negotiating a price but have just re-read the thread and didnt see anywhere about a location. Did you have somewhere lined up or were you planning on shopping around? Wasnt sure if you meant negotiate with a particular company.

Location would play a big part in committing from me and maybe some others as well.

once i get numbers i will post the prices for each company...

the company hasnt been decided yet, it all depends on who gives the best price for a group buy, as well as having a quality product. The location will be determined then.

tell me whats too far for you to travel and i will try and fit you in.

    • Update time!  The JZX110 had some maintenance needing to be done, so a lot of the seals with replaced to fix some oil leaks. Also used this opportunity to whack on a front mount that I'd bought some time ago.  I also finally got the rear lip painted and fitted.  I then got the exhaust done. It's just a catback for now. Custom made 3" stainless with a turn down. I could have a tip coming out, but it will require cutting the rear lip and possibly the bumper itself. So far I do like and it's made the car a little more zippy.  Close out with some nice pictures of the cars and a sneak peek of what's next.

    • Just something I found searching for more info on Emotion R, apparently the ECR33 Skyline GTS25t was either originally black, or there were two of them, the black one being the original demo car, then building a white one which was part of the 1997-onwards (to at least 2008!) Cockpit Tatebayashi Tokyo Auto Salon booth demo cars. It appears that Emotion R closed down in 2008 and was declared bankrupt in 2010: http://bank-db.com/hasan/208365. I used to love doing this 20 years ago on SAU and got a bit nostalgic for a moment... 😅
