Does anyone have any experience with a loud binding / clunk in the front end when driving their cr hard.

Visually everything seems ok, but when running the semis with a bit of temp last night, in a fast corner with the susp really loaded up under braking and turn in, or mid corner if i kissed a curb the front susp would let go with a loud lunk as though somehting was binding?

It only happens at the trac with semis, and has happened in the past but went away for about 18 months only to return last night:(

..anyone. Workshops cant seem to find anyting visibly wrong, and you cant drive at the speeds or lateral loads required to make the noise on the street. ...so someone wiht a similar prob in the past is my bets bet:(

I know Duncan had a similar prob once at Wakefield:confused:

Dont know if its the cause with you, but I also had a clunk in the front passenger side of my car that visually nothing looked wrong.

Untill one day the car went in for a clutch repair and the strut fell out and landed on the guard.

The problem was a shagged strut top rubber. From underneath it looked fine but from the top it was completely worn away. I never knew this as the strut brace I have covers the whole top of the tower.

It started off only clunking when under severe load and slowly got worse and happened in daily driving.

Also get the shock checked out. My Mums car was a bit clunky and turned out to be buggered shocks.

by bet is a strut top too.. I kind of managed to sheer a strut tower bolt off (damn factory tight) and had to drive my r32 for a tiny bit.. clunks around corner.

I've got a replacement strut-top.. which needs to go on in the next couple of weeks. I'll let you know if it fixes the problem :P
