leb
If they bring in the policy on banning turbocharged cars for green P-platers, im just going to take my plates off, I really don't care. I'm sick of constantly hearing about it. I'll take my chances that I won't get pulled over Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/63929-regulation-on-high-performance-cars-for-all-p-platers/#findComment-1201848 Share on other sites

NFS
Let me get this straight........ Their making new laws so there will be 2 types of P plates? Also are they banning high performance cars? What sort? What would be classified as "high performance"? How long will you have to keep the other P's for? bootlegapparel
I didn't think it was in yet? All I heard was that if you buy or own your car before the law comes in it doesn't apply to you, and it's only for red P platers in NSW. CSV Imports
I was reading something about this in the paper today, supposably, the ban is coming in start of next year. So if you have your car before then, they cant make you sell it. 78vbsle
The new restrictions only apply to NSW, the restriction on performance vehicles will only apply to first year p-platers (ie. red P's), if you already own a high performance car or you drive a family / work car you will be exempt from these restrictions and last but not least THEY WILL NOT BE BRINGING IN ANY CURFEWS FOR ANY P-PLATERS!!! This proposal was just too unpopular so they are scrapping it, however passenger restrictions may be a possibility. (restricted to carrying just one passenger if you loose your licence and then get it pack.) I hope this helps to clear a few things up. If you have any concers over the new laws you can contact the Australian Drivers Group at www.ozdrive.org. James should have his E-mail address on the site. We are there to lobby the government on your behalf so if you have any concerns please contact us.
