i have a 95 skyline and say in sitting in my car theres a switch above my left knee, wtf is it and whats it do??

Mite be a interior light dimmer switch? They are often fitted in that area

does it have the turbo symbol (the same as the one on the dash boost guage)

it could be a factory turbo timer

Iknow the one you are talking about.I have no idea about what it is.

It is an on/off switch ive switched it on and off but it makes no difference in my car.

Yeah it should have an aerial symbol on it. I use it on me GTR to make the aerial go up and down with my pioneer head deck which doesn't have auto up and down.
