I am over the stock performance of it.. i need to make more power and i need some good advice from all you skyline loving freaks like myself hahahaha. I have already got an aftermarket dumper and the usual pod. I have $3000 to put into it,, so keeping that price in mind, wot should i get???

Cheers fellas and gals if there are any!

PowerFC + Controller... get the air partition good one from www.nismo.com.au, boost controller i like the blitz ID III @ 12psi... and its really the rest is up to u :(

gcg hiflo the stocky turbo usually roughly 2gs... there abouts or something all i can suggest

hi-flow cat

cat-back exhaust

whiteline kit - sports, handling, etc...

pineapples

ex-cam gear

GTR intercooler with piping ($$$ permitting, could be close)

That should see most of your cash gone - dramatically increase the handling of the car with some good power gains...and it will be ready for stage 2 mods when you have more cash...

exactly.... just do as old mate and myself suggested , but yer finish ur exhaust...

i found out today at the boys at CreatD motorsports that my exhaust is good enuff if i piss the dump pipe and shitty cat off.. and put a better dumpy and hiflo cat... i should see a bit of a breathing gain :P

u dont need a FMIC, it all depends if uw anna push the limits of stock turbo ...

id suggest just keep the stock i/c , turbo for now... and spend the cash on gettin power fc, boost controller, pod [with air partition to help with cool air, not sucking hot engine bay air in] , finish the exhaust [depends how far away ull be upgrading turbo etc... but dump pipe would also be advised, allows better flow + hi flo cat].... pine apples, ex-cam gear....

and seriously ull be kicking hard :P

suggest of 10psi max widout upgrading FMIC, maybe 11 if u wanna push it .... but i dont like the odds so i keep it at the safety limit :)

or.. you can go a FMIC and run 12 - 13 psi.

FMIC kit (800) (Group Buy Section)

Or even consider a R34 GTT Cooler for a slight improvement (150 - come up in Private Sales every so often)

Dump (250 in mild steel) and Cat (190) - Both in For Sale Section from BATMBL)

Power FC (1250 Group Buy Section)

EBC (250 - from R33 Perfecto)

GTR Fuel Pump (150 - 2nd hand from forums - R33 Perfecto)

Tune Power FC (660 from Gavin Woods AutoTech - QLD)

Install most of it youself (priceless)

Total with FMIC $3550

Total R34 GTT Cooler $2800

After that I would also be considering a Clutch upgrade

Take it easy

Cheers for the suggestions fellas,,, Very helpful... I was personally thinking a T28 BB, Boost controller and Front mount, running bout 12-13 psi??? But i dont really know that much... I just need to make my car go faster so i can beat this guy in a Magna VRX!!! He has got a fuel pressure regulator, aftermarket computer and a couple other things. I NEED to beat him fellas!!! cant lets the Skyline get beaten by a VRX!!! Anyway tell me wot you think of that little combo and please keep up the suggestions and try let me know How much i can get these bits and peices from,, i dont mind if they are second hand so long as they are in excellent condition! Cheers Fellas again!!! Lets make this magna eat the Skyline rubber like its supposed to haha!

Im in the same boat, my mate has a Magna VRX and it nails me. I hope your refering to him "eating the skylines rubber" at the race track too mate! :jump:

Stock RB20det powered R32 GTST cars run 10 psi in standard form.

so telling him to run 10 psi max is kinda useless.

$3000 can buy you plenty.

already mentioned most but if I were in your shoes (and I was) I would go budget (and I did)

$500 - Cat back system (you already have front part of exhaust you said)

$50 - Shield and Cold air intake to that pod.. (I used PVC plumbing pipe to make the CAI and clarks rubber shielded foam for the partition.

$150 - Walbro fuel pump (255L/hour flow capability - Plenty for what that rb20 will ever make.

$50 - second hand turbo XS bleed valve

$550 - purchase and install and R33 turbo using R32 turbo's wastegate acutator.

$1000 - GTR intercooler and custom piping.

$300 - Rechip of stock ECU from TOSHI from these forums. Basically he gives you a prechipped ECU for and takes yours.. or he could make a chip for you for even less.

$200 - Some time on the dyno to make sure everything is working right.

$2800 = Total.

all of the above, with a boost setting of about 14psi, you will see close to or over 170rwkw.

I doubt the VRX will see much more than the rear lights, smoke and rubber.

Cheers For the tips GTST dude!!! I have already got the full exhaust system(3' straight through from the turbo), got the pod wit the heat shield.. So what i will do now is get the Walbro fuel pump, a T28 BB with a flange bracket, a front mount, computer rechip, a boost controller and a dyno tune!!! that sounds like a good little combo to me!!! What do you think??? What kind of power @ RW's do you think i would make from that?? ohhh and 1/4 mile time??? Thank you guys for your help, its much appreciated...

P.S. to Ryan,,, Yes the magna WILL be eating the Skyline's rubber and only seeing the tail lights hahahaha!!!!

brackez - yes 10 psi is stock.

With a full exhaust and pod filter I used to get 11.5 psi with no boost controller.

13-14psi can be done, but I wouldn't say no dramas. you do it at the risk of damadging your turbo.

the ceramic exhaust wheel on the skylines are known to break off at that sort of boost level.

this is due to 2 things.

1.) at that kind of boost level, the shaft speed is too much for it to sustain constant abuse.

2.) at that kind of boost level, the amount of heat generated on the exhaust side, can and does delaminate the ceramic material and the exhaust wheel of the turbo snaps off from the shaft and goes for a small tour of your 3 inch exhaust system and headbuts your cat.

kinda time consuming to clean.

DRAK - no worries.

My only concern is this thing that you keep refering to as a t28 BB.

that doesn't mean anything.

T28 BB turbo's can mean anything. Some S15 200sx's come standard with BB T28's. they are rated at 320hp.

which isn't reallly an improvement, when you consider that the skyline turbo's have a T3 pattern flange, this means that if you got a T28 of some sort, you would need to then have an adapter made, which means mods to the exhaust as well.

Waste of time and money.

You want a cheap upgrade, get an R33 GTST turbo or even a R34 GTT turbo which is even slightly better.

My friend had a R34 GTT turbo, fuel pump, GTR intercooler, rechip, 14psi boost and manged 181rwkw.

as for 1/4 mile time.. this depends.

ON you that is.

if you haven't done it before, you will find that it is not as easy as you think.

getting the launch just right to get a decent 60' time is critical.

shift points are important.. just reving each gear to red line and shifting there isn't always the best option.

anyway, get it done, get out there and practice.

as a guide..

another friend with an R32 gtst with about 170rwkw, managed a 13.7 while running 18 inch wheels.

that's the best I've seen from an R32 that I personally know of.

I'm sure there are others that are quicker and much slower.

You're wrong.

what no actuator?

the actuator is the metal arm that goes from the round diaphram to the wastegate flap of the turbo.

The R32's don't have a "BOOST CONTROLLER"

the boost is set by the spring rate int he wastegate diaphram.

the stock spring will hold 10 psi.

not 7psi.

If your R32 is only producing 7 psi when stock, then you could have a few problems.

faulty boost gauge.

Weak spring in wastegate diaphram.

R33 actuator.
