Mateship = you loan $$$$ and/or beer to a mate knowing that one day you might have to be treated in the same way. It may not be that particular mate that donates, it could be a whole new lot of friends. It's called "What comes around, goes around"

Mateship was the word i was looking for, but in mateship you shouldnt do something just to think that youll get it back some day you do it because you want to, not expecting anything back

Just on this, my oil press is playing funny games, like it goes down to 0 and wierd things of that nature. Could my engine be on its way out as well? I dont like the sound of all these people having wierd oil press gauges and 2 weeks later their engine blows ..

Thanks all for the good advice and offers of a hand but I'll save and get a shop to do the entire job.

Update FYI.....

I have received a few quotes ranging from about $10k for roll in/roll out engine rebuild (stock) for an RB26 upwards to $15k (400kw) for Forgies etc..

Quotes - Pro Engines (ACT), GSR (ACT) and Advan (NSW).

Cost of removing the block and putting it back in is around $2k to $2.5k of the total cost.

Half cuts ($7k) and/or second hand long/short ($5.5K) isn't something I'm considering. I dont want to worry about someone else's tired engine.

:Bang:

Same goes for a bottom end rebuild, I'd rather get it all done.

As for an RB30 bottom end...Not sure, but I dont think so unless I know more about the pros/cons and cost.

I'm resigned to the fact of a 12 month absence for the Beast being off the road. I will take this opportunity to bring the Biatch back better than ever.

BTW Thankyou, BUT... if any of you put your hand in your pocket to help out, I'll rip your !@#$% arm off  . Nuff said.

I thought we'd lost you forever richard, you seem to be almost ghosting these pages these days! I admire your spirit mate and your absolutely right bring her back like a bat outta hell!

Good luck mate i'm sure you have all our best wishes

BTW If I win lotto I dont care what you say i'm rebuilding the thing  (yes I will fight ya if need be)

12 months god damn it :) you so need to just get a whale for a everyday driver till its back on the road you know you want to :)

Nah, leave him alone Leech, let him restore his old clunker.

He'll have to haunt autojumbles and swap meets looking for all those elusive parts.

But it's nice that somebody cares enough about Skylines and their history to bring the old classics back to their former glory.

:kick: :headspin: :)

Sheezus I'm totally speechless! How could you say sucha Nasty thing bout my babe. Rust is such a dirty werd. She's so pure and clean without disease, she's almost virginal.

So take your gas axe n grinder and.... :shake:...... lmao

Doh! - you baited me!

lol well i am sure i speak for most others (well i try too :)) we look forward to hearing about the rebuild . And if you need someone to stare at the engine bay going whats that and why do you need that and oh ok i get it... no actually i dont. give me a call :)

No leech, what you do is go to a wreckers, find a nissan and remove a couple of dozen bolts.

Then you go round to Richards place and whilst feinting concern and giving that 'I want to help look', and while he's not looking............................drop the bolts you got into a couple of his parts bins. Then sit back and watch him try to remember where all those left over bolts should have gone.

At this stage you can suggest places that involve a complete re - strip down of the newly built bottom end. ie 'This one [holding up a leftover bolt] looks like it comes off your crankshaft mate!!!!'

Watch Sin turn a sickly shade of white.............. :sly: :( :cuss:
