Just wondering if someone can help me out. I bought an L28E which someone had transplanted into an R30 skyline. Im currently fitting the engine to my 260z and am currently trying to wire the thing up. Thing is, from everything I've seen, the loom doesnt appear to be a std L28E item (from what I have seen of others anyway). Maybe its the L24E item? here is a pic of some of the wiring http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/attachm...tachmentid=7153

I do have more pics if this one does not suffice. Does anyone have any L24E wiring schematics/ECU pinouts?

Cheers

Ray

I've got one, but only in paper form (I could fax it tomorrow). From memory Oz spec R30 and 280ZX wiring is very similar.

Problem with relying on US sites for info like this is that some of the wiring for their cars can be different to ours (ours is usually simpler...)

Just did some searching and came across some schematics for the L24E...

Does it seem like I am looking at an L24E loom though ?

ECU connector looks like L24E type....but then L28E type looks the same....

I have an L24E loom in the garage (as well as a US spec L28E ECU....and a local L24E ECU....I think)

Interesting...there are actually a few different evolutions in the L28 items (especially the US as they had them over a 8 odd year period) so afaik you cant just go switching and swapping ECUs.

EDIT: Yes the ECU connectors look the same, Im more interested in the wires coming from the loom before the firewall. I havent found an L28 loom that looks just like that as of yet.

i would guess that any wires exiting the main loom INSIDE the firewall..ie in the car not the engine bay.....are probably nothing to worry about......could be things like switching the aircon compressor off if the car stalls or something like that...ide worry more about the ones IN the engine bay.

The ones in the engine bay are no worries thus far.

After checking over the diagram some of the ones inside were pretty important. i.e fuel pump relays, EFI relays etc. I think I have most of it sussed out.

Am still not 100% sure what ECU/loom I have. It seems to be almost the same as the R30 from looking at the R30 wiring diagrams, but there are differences which make me wonder.

Hmm.....odd...my r30 computer wiring harness had NOTHING exiting the loom in side the cabin....only reason the loom came in at all was to keep the computer out of the rain....Hence my previous comments
