Hey,

And i have a T - Wing i picked up cheap out of the sunday times. What can i do to the engine to give it some more go, on a tight budget?

First of all, Welcome to SAU :) especially NA section.

with your question, do some research on Korean based tune site... I doubt they are in english... :D

with faster time, simple answer is less weight :) so start loosing weight in your car or your self :P

Good luck.

btw Thanks for buying Korean car :P you are supporting my ppl. :P kinda :P

get an RB!!!

similar concepts apply to all cars - In my opinion skylines in particularly from 32 onwards, breathe alot better. I do not know about the Daewoo but in my camry, the

air filter is placed behind the battery in the engine bay, and the snorkel doesnt even

get any fresh cool air from the front. But with the funny angles and the positioning of

the airbox, it is simply impossible to install a pod filter.

The best you can do is probably change the panel airfilter and exhaust. There isnt too much

modification wise that you can do without spending mega bucks to get small power gains.

Try to make it breathe alot better, or like Pva_Glue says - just strip the car.

As to why your on an skylines forum - dunno - they may have a Daewoo forum with

others who may be able to help you better. But the concept is still quite relative.

or you can try to use nitrous.

If your serious about making it deadly and are on a tite budget, loose all ur seats mate.. LOL except the drivers side ofcourse, loose all the panels basically just have the necessities, and if u got a spare 1000 - 2000 in ur budget start with extractors , a 2.5" exhaust system and a new air filter

My mate told me i would get more power if i removed the air filter, so i removed it and went to clark rubber and got some flexible piping i screwed to the bottom of the front spoiler for a cold air intake. It makes a bit of a turbo noise now, yay! :P

I also went to the extreme of removing the headers and cutting it just before the cat. It gives it some extra watts and makes a nice noise, but its slightly too loud and too illegal so i will have to figure something out, in the mean time i will just enjoy what i have.

As for weight reduction is there anything else other than the seats i can remove???

so let me get this straight...

1. you removed your air filter and ran a pipe from down low right into your intake system

2. you cut your exhaust just before the cat

WTF!!!

obviously your taking the piss....

IF your not - WTF are you thinking?????

water/dust/dirt will be getting sucked into your motor for a start - you need some form of filtration ffs mate!!!!

and not only is it HIGHLY illegal to do what you did to your exhaust system (not only sound emissions but having no CAT - someone told me fine is well over 100 thousand dollars...) but you have now taken your horse power from 50HP to 20, nice work :P

the engine needs back pressure mate - you may as well get a PHAT 4" exhaust system and slap on this puppy if your going to cut it off.....same thing will happen - no back pressure = power loss
