Howdy all...

i have recently purchased an R32 GTS-t Skyline which is currently in Tokyo awaiting space on a boat.

When it gets here, first thing im going to do is take it to our mates performance shop... to pretty much give it a full service over, eg, change oils, filters, spark plugs, etc...

Now i would just like to get everyones opinion on what i should do/change, and more importantly, what are the best products...

Hoping some of you who have previously done this and have done the reasearch, can point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance, Troy. ;)

whats been done to it so far?? I'm not much of an expert, but usually exhaust/dump pipe first, boost controller of some sort, fmic then....maybe pfc or something?? Not sure.

Write up whats been done and how much you wanna spend. Also use the search function. Probably a million other threads like this.

Have fun...the waiting game sux bad ey

quick and easy reply... irrespective of mod list.

NKG iridium sparkies

Standard nissan oil filter

Grab a new k&n pod or panel filter

Motul turbo light oil (i think its the 15w 50 or 45)

Red line shockproof gearbox oil

Might want a new fuel filter if you're not sure about your current one.

Besides that you might want to inspect the belts and see if they want changing too, but i have no idea when it comes to those. They may not need replacing at all but if you're eager then why not.

Other than that if you had any mods i'd check their state of tune and note them down on paper, then adjust any that seem too agressive eg boost levels a/f ratios etc. I say this only because the mind set of the previous owner might not be the same as yours (eg they are loaded and dont mind blowing engines up).

The parts listed above might be considered premium but you did say "best" didn't you?

M

yeah, thanks guys..

it has got mods... and aparently a few of them.

Although im not really wuite sure yet. but i suspect its a previous drift car as it does have a 7 point cage and a 2 way LSD...

i know it has,

bigger turbo (no idea on size yet)

full exhaust

pod filter

fully adjustable suspension (wont affect..)

electronic boost controller

not really sure on anything else..

im most likely going to wham in a power fc and have it tuned too...

but like messiah was saying, all the parts for service, thanks for the ideas, any other better or favourite brands of anyones?

wouldn't bother taking it to a workshop for just fluid changes, unless you need to do the timing belt or something, you shoudln't have much trouble changing stuff yourself.

do the engine oil, filter, coolant, gearbox oil. Don't do the plugs unless they need changing (take them out and inspect them, check gaps etc.). Inspect all the belts, etc. Alot of people change everything, so consider also going fuel filter, power steering fluid, brake fluid, clutch fluid.

most fresh imports come with decent plugs. If one or two need replacing, you probably wanna go all of 'em, just to make sure they r the same type. One car my friend bought (SR20DET), we pulled out an NKG R, NKG Iridium, HKS and some other yum-cha brand or something - so if they are different brands, change them all.

As far as oil, i use Pennzoil 10w40 semi-synth, and standard filter. Gearbox, definantly use redline on skyline boxes.

If it's an ex-drift, your diff may need an overhaul, just make sure it's not worn out (take a few corners at 60km/hr and you'll find out)

Has it clocked 100,000kms? if so, i would get the timing belt replaced.

Im only taking it to this workshop because he offered to me to use all his stuff, and i get parts at whatever the cost... so yeah, makes it all easier, i am still doing it all... theres also a dyno, and a reputable tuner, so yeah, i dont say no...

I am definatly going to do the lot... it has done just over 100,000k's so, yeh i will replace timing belt, thanks for that.

Just really want to know what the best types of everything are...

With the diff, being a 2 way, how do u spose it will feel if it is stuffed at that speed?

ive driven a LSD, a kaaz, a spool... but not a 2 way.

Troy

yeah it is, i bought it through them, it looks f**kin nuts... ey?

well.. im trying to work out if it is... im thinking the kaaz i drive, in my dads SS is a 1 way... but its heaps better than the standard LSD.... and the locker was stupid! on the road... quite annoying

how much is what worth? are you talking about the diff or car? i dont really want a locker, as id like to try and keep my liccnce...

Ultimatly id like to know how a 2 way works and what it does in diffferent circumstances, eg. turning corners slowly... coming into corners hard, booting it in straight line, etc...
