Which bolt on turbo will i need to make a

healthy250rwkw "BUT" with the most torque down low,

i figure i should run the more boost like 1.1bar to make it

rather than go external wich requires less psi but more

lag.

MY REASON: so on std boost my wife wont shit herself when it come on!!!

any help boys would be a appreciated

i think he has a gtr, which means that gtrs's would be laggy and produce lots more than 250 when they do come on boost.

if it is for a gtr, try gtss's 2530's or N1s, already they wont have much low down power(less than 4 grand) but go any bigger ie gtrs's and you wont have much power low down at all.

best bet for stockish low end would be hiflo the stock turbos and run more boost.

READ the post title "RB25 wnt 250rwkw WICH TURBO??" :slap:

GTRS is your best bet, you'll never do it with a 2530. 2835proS will do it easily at only around 1bar, torque down low wont be quite as good as the GTRS, but you'll have plenty of scope for more power. You might say 250rwkw is more than enough right now, but when you get it, you'll want 260. Then 270. Then you'll be looking at cams and more boost for the magic 300!

Stock fuel system isn't good for anymore than 250rwkw (unless you're from perth  )

2 mates with gtsts run 2535's and both make around 235 nonshootout mode... or 250-255 in shootout mode... very responsive and very quick.

You think with Fuel pressure regulator and a good fuel pump the stock fuel system would be able to support 250rwKw? (and I'm from perth ehhehe :headspin: )

Im about to try a 2535 but dont have injectors at the moment, hope it'll get 250kw

will have results by end of month

well yeah if its rb25 then check out a hks2540 theyre a good well known mismatched turbo and is extra laggy but will flow more than 2530 in top end

or for around $2k get a gt30 with stock parts it should be laggy

but hang on a second, you said its for an rb25det, so do you mean

a) skyline gts with rb25det conversion

B) skyline gtst with stocker rb25det

not that it really matters

do you want

a) a mid power turbo that will hit 250rwkw

B) a mid/high power turbo with lots of lag and get 250 or a bit more

cos you've said you dont want low down torque as your wife will shit herself yet your looking at 2530, t51z etc which will have fairly good low down response (not laggy) and wont flow much top end (not enough for 250rwkw), sounds completely opposite to what you want? if you want laggy and flow enough for 250rwkw then i still stick with

hks 2540 (mismatched wheel/housing = laggy)

gt30 (on stock internals will be midish laggy, not much before 4k)

or speak to gcg in sydney and ask for a laggy turbo combination that will flow enough for 250rwkw on rb25det skyline maybe they can do a custom housing/wheel combo that it extra laggy for you and flow good for the same power level.

its for a gtS and the 2530 sounds torkie but if it blows i cant rebuild it thats y i like

trust turbos is there a greddy turbo thats like 2530 maybe T517Z or T518Z has

anyone had one of these on the old gts??   :P  :D

If I mis-read your post I apologise, but are you talking about hanging an aftermarket turbo off the side of a standard RB25DE. If this is the case I highly recommend against it, as to achieve that power you will need to lower the compression and change the internals. These turbos are fine on a std RB25DET but not on a std RB25DE.

Within the month you will be looking at a total rebuild, if not a new block if it decides to "kick a leg out of bed".

Sorry boyz i meant GTST not gts. :headspin:

i dont think 250 rwkw with response/torque is a

contradiction at all its possible i just havnt found tha right

combo yet but i will.

Im not keen to push more than 250 so small bolt ons are

perfect for me. trying to find trust trbos with t3 flange cant find any?? is there any? :P

its rb25t my mistake,

but just so u know high compresion na motors arent a

bad thing with turbos u get a lot more grunt down low u

spin any turbo round 1200rpm faster u just need to tune

ur ecu properly did it twice on a vl and a skyline and i ran

26psi threw the skyline wich i didnt need wiv t3/4 combo

and 2000rpm gave full boost an massive burnout torque.

tru story :P

so you want 250rwkw thats laggy?

well thats easy gt30 stock internals, aftermarket ecu

youll be on the stock injector limit once it cranks past 4000rpm and hits its boost peak

also will need to do the usual bolt on mods exhaust, cai intake, clutch, tyres, airflow meter (not 100% but will help) etc. things like cams, better tune, cai intake will decrease lag and u want more lag so dont do any of those

check out the rb25 turbo upgrade dyno post (search for it) and find the most laggy looking dyno graph. copy their mods and you shold be sweet. i suspect the hks2540 will be the most laggy or gt30 with stock internals, the gt30 is suited for a midly tweaked engine

    • Just something I found searching for more info on Emotion R, apparently the ECR33 Skyline GTS25t was either originally black, or there were two of them, the black one being the original demo car, then building a white one which was part of the 1997-onwards (to at least 2008!) Cockpit Tatebayashi Tokyo Auto Salon booth demo cars. It appears that Emotion R closed down in 2008 and was declared bankrupt in 2010: http://bank-db.com/hasan/208365. Scan of a magazine with the black R33 from 1996: Wayback machine archived page from May, 2000: https://web.archive.org/web/20000529061027/http://www.emotion-r.co.jp/skyline.html Option magazine with a few photos from the Cockpit Tatebayashi booth at the Auto Salon from various years: 2002: http://www.jdm-option.com/photo/index.php?action=item&category_id=154&image_id=3507 2003: http://www.jdm-option.com/photo/index.php?action=item&category_id=137&image_id=3033 2005: http://www.jdm-option.com/photo/index.php?action=item&category_id=116&image_id=1831 In 2008 Cusco website mentions that the Cockpit Tatebayashi ECR33 was displayed at that year's Tokyo Auto Salon: https://www.cusco.co.jp/event/2008/12/post_735.html As of 2021 it appears that the ECR33 demo car ended up being exported to Florida, USA: https://rmcmiami.com/inventory/1996-nissan-skyline-r33-cockpit-tatebayashi-demo-car-big-te06-turbo-endless-brakes-lsd-450hp/ And finally here's Google streetview of the Emorion R garage in 2023 which is amazingly not only still there, but the showroom is still full of various parts in stock and funishings, etc.: https://maps.app.goo.gl/ttyEAZdZLyzermyT9 Apologies for nerding out a bit. I used to love doing this 20 years ago on SAU and got a bit nostalgic for a moment... 😅
    • Try fabricating something like this and install it under the pedals? Not sure if it's legal or not....
    • Even though I have some pretty good (brand) ratchet ringies, I avoid using them to break open tight bolts. A broken ratchet is very annoying.
    • Also, there's always room for 4 or 5 3/8" drive wobble extensions of various lengths so you can operate the ratchet from a better location.
