I am looking at buying a stagea soon can you guys tell me what to look out for and what i should have as preferences for parts to be fitted on the car when i purchase it from japan eg (mag wheels) is on the list.

Make sure it has a cargo cover, they are very expensive to buy later on.

Try and do a search for import rules and I think you will find that there are a lot of restrictions on modifications in the new system and also depending on the approved RAWS workshop. It would be a bit of bad luck to get it over here to find that you have to return it to standard and have to go out and buy some more bits. Buy your parts my all means but fit them after you have your approval sticker.

But with these cargo covers - I have one - but the little clip on the rear upright that it clips into - its snapped - need a whole new little piece that goes in there.... anyone know how to source these specific type parts?? If I cant get the clip - then I might as well sell the cover I guess....

Back on topic... as said above - be careful how modded it is as it has to be returned pretty much to stock for compliance... but as you listed mags on your wish-list , as long as they are 18" or under you should be ok... and with rims anyway the yard that complies your stag will more than likely have a stock set to whack on... or you can buy mine with new tyres $700 !

You can buy my set of stock rims and new rubber for $600

Check all the dash lights, aircon lights, switch lights etc and get them to replace/repair before you purchase the vehicle - will save you a lot of mucking around.
