G'day guys,

Well, it's finally in and it fits... JUST.

Big thanks to PRANK and Doctor (Doctor for buying it the first time, Prank for buying it the second time and then selling it to me..) :)

It measures 300x700x76 core size, and god know what it is with the end tanks, but it fills the front bar very nicly.

Pipe work mets up with the factory ones in the lefthand inner gaurd.

Driving it today with about 37 degrees temps, it felt like I was driving on a cold crisp night.

One thing is though, I think I've got a leak in the pipework somewhere, on boost there is a slight high pitched squeeling that sounds the same as when a mate had a leak in his pipework - and no, it wasn't there before the cooler when it so it's not my tubo (already checked that out !!! ).

Next is the ECU then onto the dyno to wind the boost up and see what she'll do :):D

:uh-huh:

OH, on another note.

Yesterday when I got it plumbed up, I took my CAI partition out to make it easier for them.

Drove it around for a while without it in, and my god what a difference !!!

For those guys running a POD without a CAI partition your mad..... Make one up as soon as you can.

The difference on a hot day is amazing, it was so sluggish off the lights it was increadible..

OK, I'll stop crapping on now.

J

looks extremly fat jay  glad to see you getting there with your car. so how many gearb boots and nhand brake boots for a bigger turbo :)

thanks for the comment on the cai I have mine an I wondered if itwas woortht eh effort I"ll seal it up better for the drags tomorrow

steve

Thanks Steve,

LOL - I don't think I'll go as far as a new turbo, got heaps of stuff to do around the house now, so sadly the Skyline will have to take 2nd place.

But I'm still on the look out for a new ECU, I'm going to go a R32 GTS-t ECU re-tuned (and a chip added for the VCT) for a R33.

Good luck with the drag's tomorrow. I saw the tyres you've got :eek1: :eek1: Those things are sure to bring your 60' time down.

I reackon you'll break the 13's with a good launch.

whered u get it from neways?

mc

:shake:

Yepp, it's a GTR copy of some sort. I think it's a V Spec copy actually - I think......

The car already had it on when I bought it which was a bonus. I think it really set's the car off.

I agree, that front bar and the cooler looked wicked - job well done.

I dyno'd my car yesterday

Specs:

'95 GTS-T

Cat Back 3" Exhaust

HKS Air Filter

FMIC

2 Stage boost controller

First time i've ever had it done (only had the car 9wks)

7psi = 169 rwkw

12psi = 192 rwkw

Not bad for a first run , I was extremely impressed.

All i need now is a CAI, Side windors Tinted and my driver side window fixed and i think i'll just throw fuel in her for the next 3-4mths.

Cold Air Induction box i believe

Its like a partition just for your air filter to get cooler air instead of the heat from the engine.

Not sure on performance increases but im sure it makes the engine breathe alittle easier.

:)

Great work man, good to see some one use it becuae there was no way I was fitting that bloody huge cooler in the nose of my car.

My cooler has been in the nose of mine for about 2 months and I still havent hooked it up. Almost finished though thank god.

Yeah thanks Doc.

I swear this cooler was made for my car. The fit is just amazing. If we ever meet up I'll have to show you :)

Make sure you check out my thread in the ACT section about Dodgy workshops though !!! I wasn't really happy about the piping that they did for it.

LOL - yeah, the cooler was in for about a week or two before it was plumbed up. My mates called me 'The Rice Master' for having the cooler mounted but not plumbed up.... LMAO.....

Now it's all good - It's not rice anymore..

Yepp, that's it.

It won't give you more HP, but it takes away that sluggish feel after you've been sitting at the lights for a while.

If you make one, make sure it's sealed from the hot air from the engine bay, it's no good if it's not sealed - it's all about stopping the pod from sucking in hot air from the engine bay.

    • The cam I am actually putting in (a few posts up) is actually smaller than my current one. At least duration/overlap wise. All the chop stuff I hear just sounds like an engine running badly, because it is. I then envision driving it around in 1st gear and being massively sad about it bucking to the beat of said chop. There is an idle video of someone with a similar cam floating around the internet, but mine is a custom cam (so is his) so it'll never be the same, plus the fact exhausts are entirely different. What I want to do is put some bullet mufflers/race mufflers in to replace a couple sections straight pipes that currently replace the two extra cats that I don't need. But this is even further down the line!
    • I can tell you now, when the bracket that the little hydraulic ram attaches to snaps, with a subframe, and V8 from an AMG C63 on it, it sounds like someone letting shotgun off right beside you. It leaves your ears ringing, and a huge thankfulness that you never ever put a body part under something heavy that's only supported by a hydraulic lift...
    • Still not a guarantee fix. I used a high quality butyl-mastiq (the black goo that's not really silicone nor polyurethane, same stuff they use from the factory that just spreads out like melty cheese), and I still get lots of water on both sides of the trunk when raining or washing the car. I also suspect the factory spoiler rubber gasket might not be sealing well, so I'm thinking of adding a thin layer of grey silicone around the bolt holes on both sides and see if that's where it also leaks from. The biggest issue is that these cars don't come with a drain hole on each side like other coupes and hatchbacks.
    • I hate it, but maybe he could paint it Monster jam style and call it...godzilla?
    • Would seem to me to be appropriate to go GTR style bar. There are options with and without N1 vent holes, with the GTR lower lip integral (because FG copy). https://justjap.com/search?q=r32 bumper
