an easy way to tell if its oil or water is to sniff it ...

oil will smell, well of burning oil ... water will just smell of normal fumes ....

depends on how white it is really .... if its a blown head gasket you could be leaking water AND oil into the cylinders, the result being white smoke ...

yep thats it tango, white smoke is smoke not vapor.

so when/if its water it will obviously be burning with the oil there fore white smoke, not vapor col-gtsx, agreed also, cant knock trade school teachers who've done engines all thier lives now can we, kwazza11:)

IF its a head gasket that is ... there is a faily easy way to tell - get a compression test done ... if you are down a LOT on one cylinder then it could be one of 2 things ... blown gasket (shit of a job, but not that expensive in parts) or ring lands / seals shot ... shit of a job AND expensive ...

hope its neither tho .... comp test will tell you more ...

shit sounds like a big job to fix.
