Sorry to hear about the negative attention, but like everyone said, people at college can be really immature. It's surprising how many people that wouldn't give me the time of day at college will now want to stop and chat when I run into them.

Personally I don't think you should let them get to you. Don't let others ruin something you enjoy.

Also can I suggest that you think very very hard about buying an 89 GTR as things can and will break and it will add up very very quickly.

Yeah just leave the car at home and catch the bus or ride a bike or something. Shit always happens in college car parks, it's not worth it.

I wouldn't be getting a GT-R at the end of year 12 though. You might be able to save up and buy a 1989 car for a nice price, but trying to find insurance will be a complete bitch of a time (probably even 3rd party) and fixing the things are ridiculously expensive. You'll find this out too being that the car's 15 years old and don't know the full history of the car.

Stick with the R33 and enjoy it for a few years (leave it at home during school) and then think about something new. I think you'll find that you will have a better time doing that, than buying a GT-R and not having any money afterwards. Unfortunately these older GT-Rs that come over cheap aren't always in the best condition engine wise, and cost a pretty penny to fix. I know from a couple of friends who have been down that route.

Yeah i realise that, that was me just proving a point to gus that its not impossible to get a gtr, i'd say if i got one i'd rather a 1991+ model.. though this is a long time to think about that.. good news is, i just buffed the car n all the egg shit came out, and some slight marks too! which is good, bad news is that the shell has actually taken away some paint! but i'll just have to wear that one, not much i can do about it really!!!

Thanks for all ur support, im still going to drive it to school...

Cant say Ive ever had any bad comments about my (baby!) car, Though thats because it's so f*$king hot..... Jokes,,,,,,

I get alot of good comments though. 2 out of 3 times i take her out, there will always be someone who says something nice. I try to keep it looking brand spanking new though, maybe thats why. AMARU, if that **** had said that to me at the servo I would have said to him Lets see how safe your car is!!! What was he driving a lancer?

Cant get much better then a 4WD 4WS car. The TURBOS are a bonus!!!

Anyways good luck with ya car man, And i think your fairly privleged to be driving a SKYLINE33 to yr 11, all I had was a 87 corolla.

Mate, you probably don't want to hear this, but don't forget that your car may not have been randomly targetted. I'm not saying anyone deserves to have that done to their car, but you can't just blame it on the fact you have a nice car. Maybe you acted like a dick to the wrong person and they took it badly.

I'm saying this because I drove my car to college almost eveyday at the end of year 12. I had people walking past it everyday, staring in the windows and stuff, but i never had any problems with people keying it or doing anything stupid. Might be food for thought...

Dude... keep the car... its your pride and joy....

You cant let some retards kill your dreams.., when i first got my car, some remo keyed it down the side..... not sure if anyone noticed it on Sunday, but i see it everytime i look at the car, and it kills me... Keep it, if you have to catch a bus or something else to get to skewl, then do so.... saves the car in alot of ways... and will end up savin you money.

About the GTR... good luck with 22k...

Your actually pretty wrong Grayham. I never brag about the car to anyone, infact if its anyone it would be joking around with my close mates (the guys that found the car in the state that it was cause they were going over to look at it to make sure it was alright.. they do it everyday) And they wana kill who ever did it with me. The school got egged to, and apparently some other cars might have been done aswell.. Everything i get its generalised about the car in general eg. Stupid wog car, Skylines are gay, my v8 ute is beta.. whata hoons car etc etc!

Im probably going to keep it, im just going to see how it turns out on wednesday when i get my new rims on, and then i'll decide from there.. though i do have a very big soft spot for the next car im looking into atm.

Dayne

As many of the guys said just cop it on the chin. Who cares what people say.

The only thing that scares me is that your thinking of a GTR by the end of Yr12. I hope you get some real driving training before then I dont want to see another statistic.

Agreed camma, I'm only here because all my cars until I was 20 were bombs.

When you are at uni and school and stuff, having a bomber is awesome, I had an 81 corona (raw power) that I didn't care about too much. I drove it through bushland, like a 4wd and learnt heaps. I'd hate to think what I'd have done to myself with my current car back then...

That said, I have to commend anyone who can own a skyline at age 17, shows a lot of commitment from you  I guess you have to look at the application you are going to use your car for. If you drive around heaps, and park in bodgy areas all the time skylines are generally bad. I've got a mate who had to park in a public carpark in Sydney (northshore) for work, and only took a month before it was gone.

It sucks, but the world is getting more and more like that.

As for the comments, don't worry about it. I ride a bike as well, and can tell you that gets more negative comments than the car any day ;)

I have not recieved one bad comment with my GTR, get nothing but thumbs up when im driving or getting out of the car. i have got some evil glares but i was going pretty quick up my street at the time :warning:

man if your looking at a GTR it will prolly be harder from now on as the 15 year rule has been killed, im guessing the price will go up for them as they will have to have compliance plates etc now and apparently for the 89 90 models there is not compliance licence for them at the moment... according to prestige.

22 is an ok starting price, i got mine for 23k as is and its insured for 27k... woohoo

anyway goot luck with the whole car thing

Hey Dayne - Feel your anguish. Haven't been on for a while so I missed your post. As you know even I cop the occassional shit about my line too. One you may remember is a tosser in his mums BMW. Every day I was on the road the positives far outwayed a couple of random individuals.

Most of the posts and the crew on here have experienced similar and have provided good advice.

My advice - keep your ride until your ready to trade up to a 32  . To hell with the f**kwits

AMEN :flamed:

Get used to it mate, it's called life.

There will ALWAYS be some di(khead who is jealous of what you have and they don't.

You have a car better than most people would have after being at work for many years so naturally there are going to be more people "below" you and hence jealous of what you have got.

My first car was a $800 shitbox Mini that I bought when I started work (with money saved from 2 years of after-school job) It was a POS but had a nice metallic burgandy paint-job. Some co(khead even keyed that!

Face it, IT'S A CAR.

It's out there in the big bad world and it WILL get scratched, dented, sh1t upon by birds (and worse), faded by the sun, rammed by run-away shopping trolleys and generally fuxxored by everything and everyone. Any time you drive it some half-wit school-mum in her 4WD Tank could run up your ar$e because she is more concerned with the brats in the back than the carnage she is causing outside the windscreen.

Nothing you can do will stop crap like this happening other than locking your car away in a vault, just looking at it through a 6 inch thick bullet-proof glass window and taking the bus...

A skyline is meant to be driven, enjoy the bl00dy thing.

If you want something pretty to look at go get a fully riced "fake EVO" Lancer.

As far as the clowns who shake their heads and make "unsafe car" comments... just smile at them as they get into their falcodore and drive off. Maybe even give them a little wave, (a nice one, not the forks)

secure in your mind that they paid more money for an inferior car.

People like that exist and thats life, if you went an bought an excel like the old codures want you to, it would be me giving you shit!

As teh guys have said there is always some one who having a shiet week or month, and has just lost all there money, miss's has pissed off with his best friend and he has just run over his own dog. If you get in his way your gunna cop it no matter what. The point is....

Love and enjoy what you have, you have an awsome car and you love driving it.. put aside what people think. I have come from owning a few cars that copped shiet from all sorts, but I loved that car and I think it looked unreal, so I didnt let them bother me, I heard roumers about me from my parents that heard I was a leb drug dealer from syd, that moved here to escape the cops. Dude I couldn't be more ozzy. BUT instead of worrying about what people were saying or thinking, I just left it, you know the turth and so does anyone that matters (all us on here, yoru friends, and fam), I figured no-ones gunna *** with a car that belongs to a 30 yr old leb drug dealer.. ;)

And you know what...... no-one ever did touch my old car!

Chin up sun shine! just enjoy what you have... ps dont get a gtr, unless you 1. can drive, and 2. have lots of mulla $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I have one but I am a long way from having my P's.... + you will cop more for having a car that is the ultimate enemy of all fords and holdens...

Yeah i know, thats just my dream car!! everyone has said not to sell and to keep it as it is my pride and joy, and heck i think i might do it! thanks for your words sinista!!! MMM i actually always had a soft spot for a 32 except i ended upwith a 33!!! i think my next line will have to be something special as im already attached to my current ride! I've made a choice, fcuk what people think... and bring it on haters!!! Word of mouth is that it was someone in year12 at school, and i dont even know the person, according to the source, theyre just jealous ****s, but i hope it was someone as they will have a nice bill to pay!

Thanks for all your support everyone!
