This is why I posted this thread...

Someone might have already checked this car out/knows of this car, and I don't have to waste my money getting it up on a hoist and doing compression/leak downs if it's already a known quantity

merli we have a compression tester mate you can probbaly borrow if you want to test the car

i checked out a 89 out that way about 1 month ago and it was cactus(was grey though)

otherwise mate, just offer him 18K then put your 33 motor in it. then you'll have power AND style

andrew, yeah i know of it - apparently:

- its been in several major accidents

- was a weekend racer only, with most of its gofast bits removed

- compression is down in 2 cylinders.

- it leeks from every gasket on the car

- has been just resprayed white to cover the rust
