Lol blackrb20silvia, thanks for your advice, i WILL be using it.. .hahaha It will be so much easier for me to go to a repco or whateva to get the bolt, i actually designed a web site for some nut & bolt manufactures.. maybe they'll have some, anyways i'll get them! Only thing i'm still yet to know is what Nm the bolts should go in at... I dont have a manual, & even if i did, IT WOULD BE JAPANESE!

Mate do yourself a favour and go to a proper exhaust shop and get this done the correct way. I had the exact same problem (only my snapped bolt was the firewall end) and only had it fixed about 1mth ago. The problem happened 8mths ago (or... about 10,000km ago) and my car was running like absolute sh1t for the past 5,000km. Boost was erradic, exhaust noise was loud and droning, throttle response was terrible, power was down a good 40rwkw. Go and get this problem fixed ASAP instead of waiting 7,000km until your major service (it will cost more then).

Don't just fix the problem that you can "see" because the problems you can't see are:

More than 1 bolt will be snapped - gauranteed

If you are replacing 1 bolt you may as well replace them all.

Your manifold may have warped (mine did which required extra labour/expertise)

IC pipes and Turbo need to be removed

Radiator fluid needs to be changed

You need atleast 1 gasket.

It cost me $581 to get my car fixed at a local "muffler man" and took 1 guy about 7-8hrs.

one of my bolts snapped so i got a guy to come round to my house and he drilled it out. costs 40 or 50 per bolt. and he comes to your door. this is what he does full time. hes in melbourne though.

i would recomend to buy a whole set and change them all. and dont wait cause i had to change my manifold gasket and it cost over 100 bucks from nissan. and tell the guy at the nissan dealership to get ****ed. he doesnt need a vin number to sell you anything. and yes they have all nissan parts. the manifold gasket was sitting just behind the desk when i went in so there was no waiting. had to wait a day for the bolts though. just call a different dealer.

DIY or get the shop... doesn't matter. Use "Copper Cote" or similar. The more often you remove your manifold the less you break cos they dont corrode.

One reason for them breaking is the slotted holes fill with corrosion and the shere forces weaken the stud. So clean and lube often. Another reason is the way the Nissan exhaust is mounted... on the R32 the hole weight is in part supported by the manifold.

Just a tip in case I've glossed over it - centre punch stud before drilling, use pilot drill and dont run off...
