i havnt read all all the replys but...

heres my opinion...

i think it looks too much like an Inifnity G35 Coupe`... although they are basically the same car... so that might not make much sence...

in a way... i think that this V-35 model has kinda ruined the Skyline name... although it does kinda look alright and could grow on me... but yeah...

heres a few pics i found a loooooong time ago... of what a possible R/G/V-35 wouldve/couldve looked like... but as much as i know... its just some fan art... or somthin...

the first two were an artist impression created by blending a Tommy Kiara R34 bodykit with a Hyundai Tiburon.

The Artist did a good job then...looks great to me

Shimmy

There is no basically about it......The G35 Infinity IS a V35 but with LHD.

Thought the early concept in those last two pics looked terrible

Cheers

in my oppinion, it ISNT a skyline.... the skyline died for me on r34........

to me this is just another great nissan, seriously guys if nissan didnt say it was a skyline and said hey look we have a new car and gave it some new outrageous name everyone would be like aww looks so cool.... but since its WRECKING a legacy that we all hold dear.. it realy turns us against the car. The power figures of the car itself are impressive, and hey it DOES look good with a kit and rims..... the only thing they should of done is not relate this new car ANYWAY what so ever to a skyline.....

just my two cents..

Yeah good point. They were obviously banking on the Skyline name to sell more cars.

At least they didn't go and put Skyline badges on the Maxima

V35 350GT

I love it and would be proud to say it was 100% Skyline

WHAT!!! That's a skyline? I could have sworn that was an 350Z

350z_skyline.jpg

Nissans design levels have sank to a level comparable of Holdan or Ford *EVERY F#CKING CAR LOOKS THE SAME* I'll photochop in a maxima next time...

Other than mechanically tell me which parts interchange that you can see

Sure they followed a theme but one that works

And for those who knock Carlos

Sure we don't like some of the things he's done but without him Nissan would have gone down the toilet by now their financial situation was so dire.

It's fine to build cars that push the forefront of technology such as the 32 GTR but that doesn't keep you in busness.

Better Nissan to survive and our cars maintain their resale value than go the way of Rover/MG.

Imagine those poor buggers trying to get out of their leases when they finish.

cheers

Headlights *No, Pfff Basically still the same shape

Taillights *Yes, ok different.

Bonnet *No, Pfff Basically still the same

Bumpers *Pff

Yes, but better to simply not make anther skyline if it's just going to be a Maxima / 350Z Hybrid anyway... At least not call it a skyline, there’s nothing skyline about it!!

Haha your'e funny :(

yeah like Nissan have never before had more than one model that looked practically the same as another model before and shared the same parts.

let me see

R30- 31 Skyline / Pintara

R32 Coupe / S13

R32 Sedan / Cefiro

180sx / 240 sx/ 280z

how far back do I have to go???

It is a fact that the Skyline really only started to look different from the other models with the R33 and R34 and possibly the R32 GTR not the GTS/T

All car manufacturers share similar design features between models and share parts and panels, this cuts down on the total cost of manufacture for indivedual cars.

Either way this poll has been running for quite awhile now and it seems that more people like or are willing to accept it than those that don't/won't. 103 to 37 so I guess that is the end of that.

It is always easier to jump on a negative band wagon than to accept new ideas.

Or maybe we should all go back to the designs of the 50's of big blocky cars with fins, I mean my grandfather thinks those cars are the best designs and everything newer is crap, so going by the same logic as the other people who like the older designs he must be right.

Oh well each to their own :bahaha:

It's only the internet and not everyone is going to agree on everything

Carry on

Yes you hit the nail on the head there Chris.

Some people are just slow to accept change and maintain their narrow viewpoints long after others have moved on.

I was one of the first to get an R33 then a R34 in spite of owners of the previous models telling me how ugly they are. Look how they accept them now.

Mind you even now if I see a nicely done up HR31 I wish I had the spare garage space

Yes this thread has served it's purpose

Cheers

Chris

Er, the Skyline/Pintara separation was just cynical marketing, much like the 350Z/Skyline issue now. At least Toyota doesn't call its' 4 Cylinder Camry a different car to its V6.

You're comparing a 180SX to a 240SX? They weren't even sold in the same market - they were different names for the same car (except engine) in different market.

If you think the R32 and the S13 and the Cefiro look the same that's up to you I guess.

For those of us who care, we are bitterly disappointed that not only has the styling become homogenised, but the engine is the same, and the chassis is the same, and the engine is the same! Rotating a door handle doesn't impress us, sorry. Very disappointing for flagship models of a manufacturer.

my view.... front looks shit ...way too much like a lexus, 350z or maxima. BAck looks alright though. I reckon the concept skyline, the black and silver one would have been a much better step in the right direction....(i love that car looks awesome !)

I didnt think the G35 Skyline could bring down the skyline visuals any more but it looks like the current 2007 GTR is even worse... so ugly... nothing compliments the other.... Looks like they've thrown on a r33 GTR wing & just expected that shape to suite, Those rims are a gay spoke pattern & It almost looks like that car wants liposuction too... ahhh man... the r34 ZTune is truly the Last GTR.

    • I just got to work and skimmed through 61508 and 61511. I was surprised the CSA adopted both, but neither are enforced. To recap what I read, it states that in a perfect world, they should be segregated but they acknowledge that this is not industry standard and clearly mention that they allow mixing of safety and non-safety. 61511 also mentions software segregation like AB does in their safety PLC's.   Now if only I could go back to control, let alone safety over comms. In my current line of work, we're only allowed monitoring over comms. Everything critical must still be hard wired.
    • I've unfortunately never been as they're on the complete other side of the continent and another country that isn't currently letting us in as easily as they use to. I even heard their stop signs over there actually say "Stop" instead of "Arret". If I decided to trek the 48h drive, I wouldn't know when or where to stop haha. Whenever I order parts from UP Garage, I order from Japan as it's cheaper. Same with GKTech... oddly enough, it's cheaper shipped from Australia then it is the US.  UP Garage Japan operates their US leg though, unlike Tomei. If Tomei JPN had the power to close down Tomei USA, I'm sure it would be done in a day. They're two completely separate entities. Tomei JPN messed up somewhere originally agreeing to its creation and got sacked big time.
    • I asked someone about this and he told me about the Audi 1.8T engine. But I think it would be difficult to swap
    • I don't know that machine specifically, but I'd personally go for something with a little more kick than 130amp. Around up to 180 would be good. At the 6mm range, you're really pushing the machine hard and don't have a long period you can run for with out needing to give it a rest. Lots of MIG machines come with a regulator and hose. A lot will come with a starter roll of wire too, but it isn't too expensive to buy. I'd recommend NOT buying a massive roll too, as you don't want it sitting around FOREVER in the machine between uses and potentially going to shit. For thin sheet metal, get a roll of 0.6mm if you're doing over 3mm and above, switch over to 0.8mm wire. Even by 2mm you'd probably really want to switch. As for gas battle, it's all swap and go style now. You'll pay a bottle deposit, and then X amount to swap for a full one. I think it's like $200 or $300 for a D Size bottle upfront as "deposit", and like $110 to $150 per swap. My D size CO2/argon bottle lasts a fair bit of welding on the MIG. And I run an E size bottle on the TIG. For DIY MIG, stick with a D size bottle. If you really start to get into a LOT of welding and doing it really regularly, then upgrade. If you're like most DIY car guys, one D bottle will last you 2 or 3 years easily. I think I've been on my current bottle about 5 years. It is starting to get low, but I've been smashing it a lot more the last 6 months.
    • SR20s came with cars like the Bluebird and Primera, but the RB20 never came. The ones in Turkey were either brought in specially or from abroad. That's why RBs aren't as common as SRs. And if a part breaks or I need to replace it when doing maintenance, it's harder to find parts for RBs.
