aircon valving noise

Hi guys, I have a click-click-click noise coming from the vents in the middle of the dash whenever I switch aircon modes... it seems to be struggling to move the vent baffles around inside the aircon unit.

if I set it to split the air feet and top vents it settles down, but any other setting and every time you restart the car it clicks away for about 20 secs... anyone had a similiar problem?

I have the dash off for a stereo install, but I cant see anything wrong (dont know what to look for to be honest)... suggestions?

There is a diagnostic check that checks out your climate control, vent operation, temp sensors and so on. I have it here in PDF format, if you need it drop me a PM and ill email it to you...

HI ya mate! how many times I told this to people!

I fixed and it's not pretty! it took me 7 hours taking whole dash a part and lucky that I had the part I need from wrecked GTR

the part will cost you at least couple of hundred from japan, so I hear...

I'll give you hands if you still wanna fix it...

it's the airvent acurator it's black box size of your hands that controls automatic aircon wind directions..etc..etc.

it's pain in the ass to fix it! but it can be done!

Thanks for the info Joe. While i got you, do you know anywheree/anyone I can get a set of good condition speaker grilles for the rear parcel shelf? Just replaced the speakers and the grilles are stuffed (they were smashed when they fitted the child restraint crapola for compliance).

well once you complied when you dont need child restrain.. unles you got a kid.

uumm... I dotn think so you can try wanted section here but I doubt that... they are so fragile and easy to break. just get new speaker system! or try the car audio shops they might have spares from old skylines
