(my car is good for 9s on slicks)

and there are no 10 second GTRs in WA

From your webpage you state ..

Note: 11.75 sec quarter mile pass was run on street treaded tyres. Not drag slicks.  Easily low 10s or even high 9s are achievable with slicks with this power, But I   choose to race the car in street trim.

Mate you're not going to run 9's sorry you need a hell of alot more power and setup for that. A trap speed of 119mph is only good for mid to high 11's AT BEST. Stop living in a dream land ... if you have not run a 9 the it DOES NOT run a 9. So how much power does your car make?? From that Trap speed I would say not enuff.

You cannot claim the car is anything more than 11.75.

I must wonder why you come over here and start throwing shit around.. I know of fast drag and circuit cars from both camps so really the argument is useless. I also see losers from both camps who think their shit is the shit and no one else can come close.

And another thing, the engine pay picture you posted is not your own, that is the engine bay from a QLD car ROARZ .. so nice try but not not good enuff.

One last thing, the car in the picture is not a HSV it is a VX SS ..

I dont know, some hsv owners like this guy are complete wankers. I met a guy at the lights in a Nice new hsv and complemented his car, he also complemented my r33 asking about power and these sort of things. He even openly admitted that my car was faster. We did not drag off the line because both of us knew there was nothing to prove. Wankers like u skyliner killer are giving some nice hsv owners a really bad name.

Some correction is needed here...

Taken from another forum

I've been researching Holden for quite a bit now, and its just making me hate them more and more. For those of you who wish to spout fact whenever somebody gives you that 'Ford Sucks' bullcrap; perhaps we should be discussing Holden's engineering skills?

1986: They needed a 6 that ran on unleaded. They didnt know how to make one. They bought Nissan's RB30 instead.

Actually the RB30 was a stop gap whilst they sourced a GM engine. Had nothing to do with not knowing how to make one.

1988: Right they have a VL/Opel Monza that they have made to look bigger by turning it into a VN. Now they needed a new engine again. They still didn't know how to make engines so they asked Buick to send us some V6's. Were they shocked when they took them out of the box and the instructions said "For front-wheel drive applications only". Not to worry, some shoddy pipe reworking and a new clutch housing will fix that.

Again, why re-invent the wheel when it is not necessary. GM is a global company just as Ford is. GM Australia (Holden) and Ford Australia both source parts locally and internationally.

"OK. Now we need a four-speed auto, too" Again, they had to source them from the US and decided to get probably what I believe to be the worst auto I have experienced in my life.

See above.

1997: OK So they decided to grab the Omega platform because it came with free IRS. Little did they know that most manufactures stopped using trailing arms a LONG time ago. Not to worry. The Volkswagon Beetle look is sure to become popular again.

It is not an Omega platform, the chassis was designed in Australia by TWR. It has styling queues from the Omega but that's where the similarities end.

1999: "Damn this infernal 5.0L. We keep adjusting the fuel mixture but cant get anymore out of it. Let's get Chevrolet to send us some of their left over LS1's." They obviously were not too concerned about any issues relating to alloy engines.

Why design a new motor just for Australia when the aim is to sell our cars internationally?? LS1 made the power without the need for quad cams etc.

[

]That about sums it up.

PS: This isn't brand bashing at all. Its simply facts, guys. I can't see why we can't discuss the competition in whatever light because if at the end of the day, Ford make a better product.

So if we end up mixing 172 GM company's worth of parts, we'll end up with a Holden.

I call it Confetti.

** You win games. We'll win wars. **

Actually it is not Fact and indeed brand bashing. Ford do exactly the same thing as GM do. The only difference is a Ford here is Ford in the USA or in Germany etc etc. GM is a multibrand company but none the less the same company. There is no difference as they both do the same, Ford is importing the modular engines from the USA for their 8's now and oh where did the windsor and cleavo come from??? :kick:

damn no more replies from the V8 chick magnet hahahah shame you banned him so early into it but i went over to the ls1.com.au forums tryng to find the guys nick and how much bullshit he spits.

but what a shit forum they don't even have a search function for threads.

Can I recommend OPSM they may be able to help you with your problem.

:kick:

what about an "i'm sorry to richo and skaife for acting like tools at the mountain" and we should stop bagging hsv as they are finaly getting up to nissan standards in performance. the joke is comparing 95 technology to 04 hsv cream of the crop.

I haven't read the thread from beginning to end but has anyone mentioned the problem with LS1's being there insatiable need for oil!!! I am in the car trade and just about every early LS1 has been replaced under warranty for excessive oil consumption in some case up to four litres per 1000km's!!! Don't seem to remember that happening with RB engines!! Not to mention dickhead LS1 owners running the bearings out of them because they didn't think or know how to check their oil level. Duh. OHV is high tech? It's a wonder they don't still have leaf springs and king pins!!!

lol this thread was a classic read, it was MUCH better though when that jerk wasnt banned & the fights were still going on... Some funny sh#t!

My comments, Jap engineering always has & will having it over the holdens… The power you can make out of an RB engine is pretty incredible, not to mention driving a car which loves to redline & can stay in high revs of 8000 rpm is beautiful.

I only drive a skyline cause i cant afford one of these........... saw one in the city and said wtf is that. Then saw the advert on the papers and WOW 411kw and a price tag to match $375k

Bentley_Continental_GT_Front_Angle.jpg

skylines and other imports are a poor mans farrari.

my uncle has a HSV clubsport and he got it brand spankin new from the factory. he took care of it and everything, but within 2 weeks the dif seized up, the doors were locking/unlocking of their own accord, the taillights in the car kept flickering on and off. hes also had a few other promblems including the cd player which kept destroying his cd (lol! knowing his taste, thats a GOOD thing!) hes had it for 4 months now and he is so sick of it and is looking to sell it.

is this the standard we've come to expect from australias cream of the crop?

    • Hey guys. I have a 400R on its way to Australia from Japan currently and have a few questions I’m hoping others may be able to help with.   Wondering if anyone here has had any luck getting the Sat nav unit to work in Australia!? Assuming the Stereo is as simple as a band expanded and tv won’t work?  Seeing as they’re based off a Q50 which is Aus delivered is there any way to link that system to the nav? Nav modules and head unit are different part numbers and appear slightly different at the rear with plug ins etc. can I put my xtrail sd card into the rv37 and will that convert the maps or update to Australian? Has anyone got any advice here?     also has anyone fitted the factory remote start and Security system once it’s landed in Australia? I put an enquirey to Nissan Japan in via a third party, and they suggested it needs a Nissan Japan dealers device to setup and couldn’t guarantee if one here could do it or not. They can supply and I can physically fit it but to setup I would need a dealers device. Any information here would be appreciated also. I’ve seen one here with it fitted already prior to leaving Japan at a dealer/inporter, so clearly passes compliance and works when fitted Japan and doesn’t need changing here.      also, does the tyre inflation sensors work here? Does anything change with them when the vehicle arrives? Where are they actually situated? I’ve read they have batteries and they need to changing at times and seems like resetting involves the nav system?    any help here would be appreciated and any other aust specific information to help would be great. Looking forward to see what the current generation skyline is like and eager to see how many of the gadgets can be utilised here.  Thanks in advance
    • Do need to take it with a pinch of salt. One of the adapter failures, they clearly had setup issues with the flywheel.  One of the slipping ones I spoke to and it was pretty clear the throwout was riding, rather than fix, just swapped to a new clutch.    These clutches are being put in anything from 5k offroad 4x4 beaters, GR yaris, 500hp commodores to 1200hp barra monsters. Bound to be some issues in some of them when they are not a simple bolt in affair due to the changes in height.    There is a lot going on in this picture and unless I did the job myself no way to tell what really happened.
    • I did this mod in 2019  You just have to modify the top bracket of the ABS/TC/Fuel Pump Control ECU so it sits more upright and closer to the back seat and run a good quality positive battery lead from the engine bay, the negative lead i just bolted down to the body in the boot.
    • Damn... Not the feedback I want to hear.
    • Twas your car many moons ago that gave me the idea!
