Hello all, Im about to purchase a Skyline and need to know whos the best for onsite checks?

RAC quoted me $265!!! for an onsite 96 point check, seems alot... :talk2hand

SGIO dont offer it anymore.

I know its worth it but come on.. $265 for non member and $235 for member.. its a bit much isnt it..

from extremly limited experience and much word of mouth dont bother with onsites take it to your mechanic or even better take it to an sauwa mechanic recon you could get a better check for similar price

Yeah but the problem is that I havent purchased the car yet, and it would be a huge pain in the asss getting the guy to drive 2 the car place with me to get it done.. Got any ideas on how much I would get a check done for at a mechanic if I did?

no idea on prices with mechanics cost me stuff all but ive been with same mechanic since got licence and we have a "good working relationship"

dunno bout the present owner but if i was selling and wasnt hiding anything id let someone i thought was serious take it to a mechanic to get checked out mite want a deposit an major details tho

if the guy wants to sell the car he will take it where it needs to go

I have always taken my cars to wherever the buyer wants, and they have done the same for me.

Dont settle for RAC or SGIO etc, take it to someone who knows about forced induction and jap cars....it really pays off.

yeah always a big thing on getting the guy to take it somewhere cause you have to understand that it would be a hassle for you why not the seller aswell. plus they have to wait for a couple hrs on a weekday etc.

if they do go for it than all the better get them to take it one of our sponsors.

or if you could organise with them $200 for them to come out with you.

the way i look at it, if someone wants to sell the car they will take it to where it needs to go within reason.

If they refuse, then they most likely have something to hide or it makes the car not worth the risk if you dont get it properly inspected by someone who knows about jap cars
