What tyres were you running and size, pressure???

I think you would run lower 12's if you decrease your 60 foot by a bit. Also I hope they did not let you run the water sprayers on while you did the run...that is just stupid!!!

And I am guessing that was with a bit of wheelspin considering the torque that engine must produce

Standard Nankang street tyres on my mags 235/40/18 with 20psi pressure - The water sprayers were on - they dont leak onto the ground - very small misting nozzles from the states - got them from a guy on this forum actually.

The run where i got a 12.9 was NO wheel spin. got a good launch - Clutch slip launch

18's??

try it again with a set of 16's and 225's with 20psi air in them.

I'm sure you could get it better..

hmmm..

in my S14 I was launching at 4000-4300rpm and that was best for me with heavy'ish 17x9's and 255's.

anything below 4000rpm and it would bog, even with slipping the clutch..

anything above 4300rpm would require backing off to get traction.

I raced, my first run was my new PB (not by much tho, down from a 14.145 @ 102mph). The next 2 runs were sloppy so I parked it for abit to watch all the PAC Rotory cars and heaps of other cars. Next think I know it's 10pm and i'm driving out the exit gate

14.009 @ 102.07 / 2.089sec

I also managed a 0.035 R/Time too which is my PB.

I was in full street trim (minus my subwoofer). Tyres (225/50/16) were still at 38psi too but I need some Nitto's now :/

I'd say without a doubt the best nites racing in a good 3mths or more... can't wait until it's winter again !! I'm still far from happy with my times but i'm still improving each week so i'll be back again.

  • 4 weeks later...

finally got to to to the street meet for the first time!! it was a good experience but disappointing! I had only 2 runs before the rain. first run i got bogged a little and my clutch not holding as well, and only managed 13.69s @ 108.7mph & 0-60ft 2.4s!!! well my second run i tried to launch at higher rpm (5500rpm) and riding the clutch but then my clutch (pressure plate) just gave up and got stuck half way! getting my clutch replace this Saturday!!

will be back when i run in my new clutch!!
