munkey, the dodgy asian men are at the swap meets. most of em are from china. quite a few of the computer stores are owned by china man as well.

i just went up to sydney last week, i didn't realise computer parts would b cheaper there else i would've looked around. went in that paddy's market, no computer stuff there.

cheapest place i've found here is msy. their parts are cheap cheap, those guys must get em cheap from some supplier.

take a look: www.msy.com.au

i dunno how dodgy they are though, went there and the store is pretty small and stuff. i tried to bargain em and it didn't work and they didn't have my motherboard in stock so i left.

where are the computer markets in melb, where dodgy taiwanese and asian men peddle expensive gear at insanely low prices like in syd?

boxhill town hall, camberwell, collingwood, springvale... go http://www.comtrader.com.au/ for a list of current. Going on prices on, well for anything (from cars to computers) i'd imagine melb would be cheaper for computer stuff. you get some dirt cheap deals, and while it looks dodgy, most of it works great

I could make soooo much $$ if i bough mobile phones and comp stuff and sold it in australia, but i would have to smuggle it in or i would have to pay import duty on the stuff!!

Inark u still smuggling stuff into the country with your anus?? wanna come to taiwan and we can stuff a few comp parts up your anus and bring it back to australia.:bahaha:

would there be any room up there to bring me back a set of mag wheels???

:D

hmm the weight and sixe of box +courier fee + import duty australia would charge you for the mags would be shiteloads!

I was told u pack all my old clothes in the dhl box and my new clothes in my suitcase then i wont get charged by dhl/customs for bringing back new things

i love the asian men at "swap meets" (dunno why ppl stll call em that, hardly anyone swaps anything... its jus "computer markets" in syd)

The most popular one up there is at North Rocks shopping center, they all own small stores and warehouses, and the guys that trade direct out of warehouses give you prices so cheap i've yet to see anything in melb compete with them.

The other place is on Liverpool St in Enfield, which is where umart (www.umart.com.au) dispatches its goods from, you go to the website, check the price, put in an order and you pay em when you pick up... brilliant.

    • It just occurred to me. The way I am asking for increasing bite as I slow down (ie more bite the more time on the brakes), that is actually sounding like less initial bite, and hence the bite would feel to increase.

    • Sorry, I must've not been clear enough. On my 350GT, the pads originally on the car created dust to high heaven, and did not squeal at any time. I got new low dust pads, that created absolutely NO visible dust, that squealed when cold.  It wasn't  the initial bite, so much as an increase in braking, without extra brake pedal pressure, during a single brake instance. I had to lift off a little as my speed decreased to zero. Loved it! Now on my 370GT, I have to press a little harder as I approach zero. Not hard, just harder. I am too lazy and live in a city block with no room or tools to do it myself, so I would be paying someone to do the switch I looked at the three offerings by Intima, and one of them had a Features line that caught my eye. "Strong initial bite with continual rising coefficient". The problem is that this is on their "Trackday, Time Attack, Sprint" pads, not their day-to-day pads. Its possible that JAX installed track day pads on my 350GT, I just don't know. But I was pretty clear I did not track the car and drove the streets pretty gently. https://intimabrakes.com.au/home-corporate/intima-rr/ I'll send them an email and also check if other pads purport that behaviour.
