yep they stole my farking gear knob. was such a bitch driving the car back from the holding yard without a gear knob. oh well, as always it could have been worse :D

charlie has had a nightmare in bonded storage.

my car is as stock as they come. they can steal my factory gear knob if they really want it that bad, ive got a nismo 1 on the way from japan.

im expecting the headunit and screen to be stolen (even though its almost completely useless in australia) , but i dont care as long as they dont break it when taking it out

my turbo timer will probably be gone.

as long as they dont take my factory option momo wheel ill be happy!

Well, my theft problems could have occurred anywhere from the Brisbane docks to the Sydney bond storage place it sat in for a few months.

But it's all good now.

If anyone is worried about having any goodies stolen, have them removed and sent via EMS to Aus.

Unfortunately not. The wharfies will blame the shipping company and vise versa. You'll end playing a game of tennis with them...

We had a VERY heavily modified R34 GTR sent back to Japan and the shipping company f**ked around and told us the car would sit in Brisbane for a week as the boat that was meant to go to Yokohama was actually going to Hong Kong. We didn't get much sleep that week :D Thankfully nothing happened to it otherwise it would have been a rather expensive re-imbursement bill to the owner.

I assume your car has already been sent??? if not do what NXTIME suggested and have your broker remove all "stealable items" (Gear knob, headunit, turbo timer, boost controller, gauges etc...) from the car and have them sent to your home via EMS.

It's a real detriment to the import industry unfortunately however until AAT take control of all docks this kind of thing will continue...

This is a good idea! I imported 2 cars (GTR 1st then sedan 2nd) a little while ago now but still have all the pics. Phil from Direct Imported found both of my cars for me and was very happy with his work. Both my cars came in through Brisbane ports without a drama, nothing went missing.

Anyway the GTR 1st

And the series 2 Sedan

Auction pics, Grade 3.5, on a tight budjet this time was a little worried about the quality of the car. And its pretty difficult to find a turbo sedan in manual.

And the finished product, took a little more work as the body needed some little cosmetics, but interior is perfect and mechanically it was also perfect just the paint was a little average. Very happy with the result :D

you dont need that lip on a sedan, ill take it off your hands :)

good move changing the front bar lights to the coupe version too

Haha, the lip stays. I was actually told by the compliance guy that the fog light/indicator assembly had to be changed to the coupe version as the sedan ones weren't ADR approved :D Didn't really need the extra $450 cost at the time but in the end I am glad they were changed too.

thanx mate for the info. all i can do now is wait and see. hopefully it turns out all right. a turbo time wont cost much any way. :P

ok... shes finally here... arrived last night on the back of a truck out the front of my house :P

Bodys actually not as rough as i originally thought it was, altho somewhere along the trip they ripped the front bar off, massive crack in the bottom lip, mounting hole is ripped through... nothing i cant fix and reinforce myself. Final Konnexion is the name on the inside of the front bar so i assume thats the make.

Other slight issues... like Beer Baron the kents stole my gearnob!! 1st time thats happened... every import ive brought into the country has had the exact same gear knob and this time they decided they liked it... they also stole my super dooper cup holders... once again all my cars came with em and this is the first time they stole them.. f*kers.

Bride seat is a genuine one... i thought it would be a knock off... needs to be repaired on the door side... is obviously made for small asian asses cause even my frame barely squeezes in... it comes with a 4 point harness SCROTH, but for some reason there is no rear mounting belt. Passenger seat has to go... dodgey faded recliner... will replace with a Bride Ergo copy i think.

SO... now the fun begins... ive got 4 Advan tyres which i will use for drift practice now which is handy... will get some cheap arse second handers for compliance me thinks. Took it for a bit of a blat last night which wasnt easy without the gearnob.... mechanically seems to be in top condition despite the dirt and roughness. Will take it down the factory and begin on the body repair and paint and start doing the easy compliance stuff before getting it done properly.

not the cup holders!??? NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...

looks good mate, year it's a bitch driving with no gear knob! bastards. there must be some knob head (literally) in brisbane with a shanty made out of peoples gear knobs...

hahaha maybe he needed a new support beam to hold the roof up... id imagine that many gearknobs would need a steardy beam to hold it up.

about the only thing they didnt steal was the silencer for the exhaust... why ud want to steal it is beyond me but u never know with these tools.

that front bar looks like its sitting a bit low in the 2nd pic nark :D

hehe congrats.

only thing they stole out of mine was the front mats. left the rears, left the headunit, screen, momo wheel (thank the son of rajab!) turbo timer, and i even got my flare :(

baron, i got a drink holder for ya too :)
