put it this way though.. you spend $7k and get some lucky breaks and get it fixed.. assuming you paid $16k you have theoretically bought a $23k car .. now only worth maybe $16k on sale time in the next 12 months (assuming you find a buyer). So that $7k is a worthless sunk cost..

Now if you can sell the car for about $9k for parts, that is your "break even" point... where you may as well screw the time / effort getting it fixed.. and just flog the parts. Anything above $9k for all the parts makes sense.. anything under $9k doesn't.

Do the maths.. think the costs.. and it should all make logical sense

theres no need for keyboard warriors on these forums.

sorry to hear about the car, but as everyone has said, in future, dont buy a car without having full insurance. have the insurance ready and set up and have ureself covered as soon as u exit the car yard, persons driveway.

And if you were that tired you really shouldnt have been driving my friend.

at least u werent being an utter d&*khead sliding around corners or anything. (from what weve heard).

I had a mate that wrote off his Series 4 RX-7. He had it for 2 days and drove it as if he thought he had the car for 2 years and knew it like the back of his hands, i had no sympathy for him when he wrote it off the 2nd day, with me in the car cus he was driving like a mental going sideways every gear change in the wet. He too had no insurance, or only 3rd party or something

On a serious note bro.

A lot of people have suggested a few options to you. At the end of the day its your choice. If you really love that car and wanna keep it then fix it. But if it all comes down to money, do what will benefit you financially.

A wise man once said:

'You think that something is bad for you, but God knows its really good for you, and you may think something is good for you, but God knows its bad for you'.

Who knows, if you never had this accident, you could have had a worse one a few minutes later and could have lost your life. This accident could have been a means of stopping you from getting into something worse.
