Now tha we have the track and drag tables. How a bout a horsepower one, similar to these. Proven power of course.

Split it up into engine catorgories : RB20DE, RB20DET, RB25DE, RB25DET, RB26DETT(and above ie 2.6-3.0 litres). Also a 4 & 8 cylinder class for those not as lucky as some.

Not sure if this thought is original, probably not.

This is very dependant on dynos... all it'll do is encourage people to dyno their car at the highest reading dyno in their area to get the best figure...

I think the 1/4 Mile and Racetrack lap times are much better units of measurement for comparing our cars...

Yep.Times rule.Dynos are for tuning.Tracks are for proving.

Besides, what good is 1000hp if you can't harness it & do what we all like doing - going heaps fast.

Often more power doen't make a car go faster.Power + traction+

good driving = killer times(drags or circuit)

Just my opinion.

I love the idea so long as "Dyno/Workshop Where Recorded" is a required field.

I think it'd be great.

Just cos you feel that 1/4 times or lap times are more important shouldn't preclude those with a raw hp bent from having their achievements recorded.

I'm all for it.

Adrian.

    • I think he was only proposing to use the wire, not the sender. Simply because it runs from the right place to the right place. Personally, I wouldn't hack up the factory wiring like that. I'd just lay in the Defi loom.
    • From memory it wasn't too hard to simply see which wire ran where when you plug that in. Unfortunately also from memory the OEM sender does not use the same configuration 99.9% of gauges run. So in other words if you connect the signal wire that was running to the OEM gauge to your DEFI gauge you might find your oil reads at 200C or some other incorrect value. I remember having the same line of thought and then running new wires/senders to match the gauges I have. The pinout is available in the R34 workshop manual.
    • Does anyone on here know which wire on the GTT triple gauge pod harness is for the oil temp gauge? my sensor works fine but I upgraded the gauges to DEFI advance. And if I can simply piggyback off the oem oil temp wire to the Defi oil temp sensor wire that would make life so much easier.
