Crank Pulley Q's

In the process of replacing a water pump on rb25det. Pulled crank pulley off and then dropped the thing on the concrete. Result, one pulley with a nice chunk missing from one side. So now i need another pulley. Would the VL pulley be the same or where can i source another rb25det pulley. Any help appreciated. Cheers.

How big is the chunk? Can you post a picture?

Not real big, probably could still use it, but id rather have a pulley thats not broken. Sorry cant post pic as i dont have a scanner or dig camera. Might ask some of the local jap wreckers if they have a spare one.

vl pulley uses 1 belt different to the rb25/20 i think. The rb20/25 had 3 ribbed belts, where the centre belt on the vl's is a v groove belt, so no u cant use one.

try sourcing a second hand one and have it balanced....

If you grab another pulley, just be sure to check all grooves before assembly as they come out in many different forms as Bl4ck32 stated. Some are V groove, some are 3 rib and some are 4 rib. Just make sure the number of ribs match up to the pulley. Don't worry if you find one with a 3 rib on the very end and your Power steer is a 4 rib. You can still use a 3 rib belt on the power steer, you just have to make sure the grooves match up on the crank pulley.
