...let a mate put one of your wheels back on and not notice that e is doing the wheel up with the wrong LOCK NUT!!!!!! now it has f*ked two of the threads on a couple of the bolts....is this an easy problem to fix? also would a place like bob jane fix it easily, i live closeby to one.

Take the wheel off and take a sample locknut with you to something like Trade Tools, Glenfords, whatever.

Hopefully they can sell you a single thread repairer to suit that thread type.

Err, and make sure the same wheel nut / lock nut isnt one of the fscked ones :D Better yet is if you can find a bolt with the same thread as the wheel stud, and take that with you. But they SHOULD be able to line up a thread repair with only the female part to match to.

just go to repco or something like that and ask for a new bolt, tell em what car and they should be able to supply them. it's not a hard task. you need to take off the wheel, caliper then rotor, bang the shit out of the bolt so it comes out, and put the new one in. before putting everything else back on, put the nut onto the bolt and tighten it against the hub - this pulls the bolt all the way thru, preventing it becoming loose later on.
