ceffy speed alert chime

My mate bought a white ceffy the other day (bastard) anyway it has a speed alert chime anyone know how we can get rid of it (I did a search)

I had the same in the MR2 I imported last year, isnt it annoying?

To my knowledge its mounted behind the dash, not sure exactly on a cefiro.

In my r31 gtsx ('88) the speed chime was a little bell box behind the panel that faces your left knee, left and below of the steering wheel. There is a small plastic grid built into the panel there.

I got some small pliers up behind there and snipped the wire leading to it, turned it off ok.

There is a black box under the dash near the drivers side left knee. Pull the plug out of it. That will shut it up.

What everyone has said. Two things tho, just unplug them at first, as there is about 3 little boxes up there. Then when you have found it, SMASH THAT BARSTARD THING!!!

I'm glad my aircon hasn't been regassed since coming into Aus.... Windows down == hardly noticable speed alert.

BTW - RiverSide - silver auto 89 Ceffy ~80k kms - guy I bought it off thinks you imported it - let me know if you have any info on her

Was that one from the Gold coast? If so i think i know the one you are talking about.......BUT I did NOT import it. So unfortunately I can't help you with any info.

I think the guy was pulling you leg. I hope you got it at a damn good price because he was REALLY desperate to sell it from what i recall.

No, thats another box down there. It also effects/can effect your drivers side door locking with an alarm, so I wouldnt pull that one out if that also annoys you.

Its its own item.
