Depends on the compliance scheme.

If 15 year rule, then it just has to be engineered with things like seatbelts and mirrors changed and side intrusion bars. It's pretty forgiving.

If SEVS, then it has to be returned to factory standard, which probably means you have to have the front panels and light array removed and replaced with the 180SX lights.

yeah, that is a very rough description of a compliance plate. the plate basically states that the car now meets the applicable Australian Design Rules.

Regarding the Sil80, it is simply a 180sx with some body modifications. however if you are planning to import one under the new SEVS you may find it not viable us under that scheme only standard cars may be complied. Best bet is to speak to a RAW (listed on the DOTARS site) and ask them what your options are for importing one. FYI there is a factory nissan version of the sileighty made in 1996 or '95 if memory serve me correctly. Not many of them made though and they would be comparitively expensive.
