OK, im sure heaps of people have posted the same sort of questions im about to ask, but just bare with me. Ive skimmed through other threads, but they havent really coverd my problem. I just got my gtr 32 three weeks ago. Got it home, and i was sure the fuel pump shit itself, because it didnt seem like it was getting fuel. So before changing the pump, i changed the filter, cleaned the tank out and little things like that. Didnt fix the problem so i bought a walbro pump and put it in. It fixed the problem to a certain extent, but it still seems like it doesnt get regular fuel. Problems i think it could be... Stuffed fuel pressure regulator... Stuffed afc's. Also ive been told that maybe the 02 censors could be dirty???? doesnt sound right to me. It sometimes doesnt get past 2600rpm. which i was reading that usualy is your afc's? But mainly it drives good then cuts out and when i start it after a drive it strugles to keep idle. Other times it drives like a dream. This is my first nissan and i wouldnt have a clue where to start. So it would be absolutely great if you guys could just help me! i really need this. Its killing me having my dream car in my shed not being driven. :)

Thanks.

Check:

All vacuum and boost lines,

Sensors and their connectors.

My Dad has a VL Commodore and the AFM was loose so maost of the time it ran good and occasionally ran like a pig. When I first got my car, one of the knock sensors was loose so it was going into safe mode half the time. I also found that my boost gauge was not working due to the vacuum line off the back of the inlet manifold being cracked. By replacing the hose I now had no vacuum/boost leak and my guage now works. When I fixed the knock sensor the car runs like a dream.

So just look at connections to all sensors and listen out for those leaks.

Good Luck :headspin:

Try getting the injectors cleaned but I think your problem might be more Air flow related.

It is very unlikely that it will be a regulator problem but don't rule it out. I think I have replaced like 1 reg to a hundred pumps.

yeah, its my airflow metre, well the top one. I hooked some kind of absolutely cool device in. its a hand controller for the computer, i plugged that in and it told me straight away that there was no response from airflow 2. which happens to be the top one. Still trying to figure out wether its the wiring or the airflow metre itself. I guess now im on the look out for a gtr airflow metre. Just standard, no point in upgrading if they are just coming out in 6 months time anyway..

    • I would be lying if I said I wasn't interested in what MCM were going to do with the NC I really enjoy their banter and occasional collaborations (like Alan from TSF, Ben from BCW, or any of the Haltech guys throwing around their experience), and I have probably watched everything they have put out
    • Not yet, we basically drove it to a private road, got the logs and drove it straight back. I think I need a new passenger seat belt after the mrs squeezed the life out of it.
    • Sounds insane! 🤤🤤🤤  Do you have any vids of it driving?  A flyby would be nice!
    • The prices of NCs are going to go up thanks to you... and partially the MCM guys.
