hey guys

Im no mechanic, so I have to use info from friends. I need some solid info, so if you are guessing please don't reply. At high revs in first gear when changing to second , I get a pop from exhaust, its not loud and not everytime, + i don't loose power. My mechanic friend said don't worry. unless it backfires.. something to do with the efficiency of the ignition system, that at high revs sometimes it will miss.

ok do I need to get it tuned "only done 5000ks ago, or check the coil packs" don't really wana have to keep retaping them" or ignore.

well i backfire all the time, both cracker pops and the deep pop, in first 2nd 3rd and 4th

Im running a straight through with no cat.

Pops/backfire is natural, dont worry, its better to run a bit rich then lean. Unless your detonating, coil failure etc and u lose power then u worry, otherwise keep driving hard and ignore the pops.

your mechanic said dont worry unless your backfiring. ??? all skylines backfire its natural...

what mods are you running? is it stock?

just exhaust back pressure thats all. i have dual n1 and i get double pops:D

If it is between gear changes ie. back off accel temporarily, then an exhaust leak can also cause this kind of popping. Nothing to be concerned about.
