R33 RB25DE auto's are SLOW off the line.. they go fairly well top end, but i had a go at one yesterday in my work car which is a bog stock auto VN V6 dunnydore station wagon with roof racks and i absolutely left it standing by a number of car lengths up to 100k's before we backed off.. and i heard it wind right out in first and change into 2nd full throttle so it was definately going.

ill have to agree. u just cant get the low end torque without using the gears in the auto rb25de. They are a disgrace to skylines, i realli dunno why sum1 would wanna buy a auto na skyline. and dont gimme no BS abt them not havin a manual liscence because they shouldnt even be allowed to drive a skyline if they want an auto AND non turbo.

i like to see how a Gts R32 or R33 wound go vs my Silvia Q Sr20de

Siliva 1150kg 105kw or 115kw not sure stock

Mods Pod exhaust

Gts R32 1270kg with Rb20de 116kW@6400rpm

gts r32 1270kg with rb25de 134kW@6000rpm

Gts R33 1320kg with rb25de 134kW@6000rpm

My sr revs to 7500 what to rb rev to

I think i can take the R32 with a rb20

but the rb25 seem to have a bit of power in them

R33 GTS25 coupe is 147kw @ 6400rpm/1330kg (in Type S form):

http://english.auto.vl.ru/catalog/21695/

Redline is 7000 rpm.

So you might struggle a bit vs a GTS25 type S?

you would get owned, i rape my mates sr20de sil all the time. it barely beats excels. athough i think his does need a tune!

My sr revs to 7500 what to rb rev to

rev limiter at 7500, peak power at about 6000

nah i own heaps of things with my Little 2 L its a lot faster then i thought it wood b

I can't see a Rb20de Beating me But the r32 Rb25 wood go Hard i think

My Sr20 has a good tune

Most of my mates turbo Sr Own R33 the turbo give them both about the same Power gain

cause a Stock turbo R33 is like 187kw

S13 silvia is like 156kw

and the silvia is faster most of the time due to the weight

S13 Silvia

ENGINE WEIGHT POWER TORQUE (0-100km/h) (0-400m)

CA18DET 1120kg 130kW 225Nm 7s 15s

SR20DET 1170kg 153kW 274Nm 6.2s 14.5s

R33 Skyline

RB25DE ?? 140kW 230Nm 8.1s 16.21s

RB25DET 1370kg 184kW 294Nm 6.21s 14.4s

R32 Skyline

RB20DE ?? 116kW 184Nm 7.63s 15.76s

RB25DE ?? 142kW 231Nm 7.1s 15.0s

RB20DET 1290kg 160kW 263Nm 6.9s 14.8s

Does anyone know if those are correct?

According to that an RB20DE (Non-turbo) R32 is quicker than an RB25DE (Non-turbo) R33??

I know the 33's are a bit heavier than the 32's but I thought the extra power in the RB25DE would still make the R33 quicker?

Does anyone have accurate times and power figures for these cars?

    • G'day all, I have drilled and tapped the hole for the relocation of the timing belt tensioner. That was straight forward. I'm unsure if I need to also put another hole for the smaller stud that the spring behind the tensioner catches on (this is how it seems to work in its original spot). Or do you not use the spring behind it and just torque it down? Thanks in advance, I did a search but couldn't find anything related and it doesn't mention it in the rb30det sau guide.
    • Hi All,  just thought I would provide an update as I know smooth (Matt) was on this forum from 2003.    my brother Matthew passed away end of may 2024 at the age of 41 from liver failure. I am not sure how many of his original team krazy friends are still on here or active but thought it reasonable to let the forum know.    if you have any photos or pictures it would be great if you could share them.    it took me a while to work out he was active on here.    thanks so much

    • 😜 hopefully we get this instead of a new R36 GTR due to recent financial problems at Nissan. Nismo to sell a complete kit with RB26 and driveline. All starts making sense (ok maybe not) once the Nissan Leaf's (Leaves?) with stuffed EV motors/batteries hit the market cheap
