Tried to post this last night but the forum database seemed to be shitting itself - thanks for the post Roy.

They seem functional and look great.

With my understanding these are also road legal right - because they don't protrude?

I know this thread is almost 3 years old, but does anyone have pics of some aerocatch pins installed on their skyline??

Russels R32 That did the Time attack at Tskuba looks like it has them fitted.......I think the car is on the front cover of Autosalon Magazine.

Winnar!

Thanks ** JaR ** :)

If you are thinking of using them on your car...just be careful regarding your bonnet. Being CF you would want to put a backing plate under it so that the laod is spread accross a larger surface....ither wise the shoulder can punch through the carbon and trouble wont be far off :D

Thanks for the tip Troy. I'm still not sure if I will get these, or maybe just the standard sparco ones. These look more trick, but install is a bit of a job.. and I wouldn't want to stuff up my bonnet! decisions decisions...

Where they are screed into the bonnet, its about a 3-4mm shoulder. So not much and with wond and high speeds i can see it pulling free, especially if like most carbon bonnets they have some cracks on the leading edges etc.

So i would on the underside of the bonnet, cut an alloy backing plate with the same flange pattern but say an inch wider so that th eload is over more surface. On my ally GTR bonnet (i decided against using bonnet pis, i now use a cutsom bit of baided line) i made a template and it meant having to trim some of the body sealer on the the gusset/frame of the bonnet so that teh backin gplate can squeeze between the bonnet and frame.

thread dig.

i know a fair few people here use them, im installing mine at the moment. ive heard stories (including a build on here i think) where the aluminium pin/strike sheared at high speed.

During the install, ive lost faith in the anodized aluminum. Anyone know of any steel alternatives? i could try custom, but fiddly though.
