do they actually do auto electrical stuff tho??

Are they qualified auto electricians? or do they sub contract that stuff to other people?

i personally wouldnt have a clue who to take it to around here for that sort of thing.

I actually have no idea what they do for electrical stuff. If it's just a horn playing up, i'd be inclined to get the multimeter out and screw drivers and start pulling things apart. It's amazing how much you learn by braking things then TRYING to repair them! hahaha

Did you check the fuse?? hehe. that'd suck if you took it in and it was just a fuse or something...

sorry guys for the late reply, been bz moving house. Well the wiring to the horn is some how too long or too short, every time i turn the steering full circle it gets disconnected from the socket. Obviously the guy the installed my MOMO steering is clueless, so i am not taking it back to him. And i already took out the wheel, i found that he had cut all wires in there! WTF??? including the ones to my airbag.. what a tosser, so pissed right now!

so guys any recommendations? i need to get it done ASAP, driving in the city without a horn is murder.

call up Autlec in clayton just off wellington road near scorptec computer store.

i've used them before and was happy with the service. My mechanic also uses them for auto electrical issues.

If you have your steering changed over to an aftermarket one, don't you need to have some sort of boss kit or something, so it doesn't mess up your airbags and other stuff? I know you can get adaptors for aftermarket steering wheels... Maybe you just need one of them installed.

skypy12: thanks a lot bro, will give them a call soon.

moomoo: hhhmmm... yes i have a boss kit, but the wiring has all been cut off inside the console connecting the steering n boss kit. and what are these adapters r u talking about? never heard of them... got a pic?

I think the boss kit and adaptor might be the same thing. I don't really know coz my steering wheel is stock. Maybe give autobarn a call, coz if you needed anything else they'd know coz they sell the steering wheels etc.

If the wiring is all cut up, then that's obviously going to stop it from working. If you get someone to fix the wiring, I'm sure they'd know if you need anything else to get it working properly.

cheers!

your airbag has to be removed to fit the aftermarket steering wheel. I believe the reason why the installer cut your airbag wires becos your airbag has been removed. Thats the disadvantage of having an aftermarket wheel.

If you have some spare wires lying around, to extend the horn cable, all you have to do is cut it and attach spare wire to it.
