FATGTS-R
Hi guys, Had my car tuned recently and many people have looked at the chart and think its a high possibility that the capacity has been raised on my RB20. Personally, I think its still a 2 litre but with so many people thinking otherwise I thought I would post it here to get a few more thoughts. Engine: RB20DET - Red top eccs 12 port. Mods: (R31 GTSR) Factory front mount, TO3/4E, long runner exhaust manifold ( black hpc ), pod ( no cai ), 3 inch exhaust and stand alone management. 12 psi. So whats peoples thoughts? Roy
Im voting its a 2.0L But im thinking your turbo setup makes a bit more power lower down then mine. Im installing a new housing on my turbo this week so will hopefully look a little more like yours when im done, but i think you will find somehting with 2.5L will make a bit more ramping on to boost at 3,500-3,800rpm Some forgies and 2.2L perhaps:) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/65941-is-this-a-stroker/#findComment-1230847 Share on other sites

Roy
Been looking for this thread. I know for a fact that my engine is std, and my figures are as follows: 3,500rpm - 78rwkws your making about 4rwkws more then me:) So im guessing its a std displacement RB20. What i really want to know is the turbo the std GTS-R turbo? The figures below are from my tune with 17psi. Does anyone know the cam specs of the RB20DET-R, i know they are different, but i have never been able to find out exactly what they are Approximately my thing is making... 4,000rpm - 150rwkws 4,500rpm - 196rwkws 5,000rpm - 216rwkws 5,500rpm - 232rwkws 6,000rpm - 234rwkws 6,500rpm - 230rwkws 7,000rpm - 218rwkws Our turbos seem to be very similar in response and performance, but you do it with 5psi less boost:thumbsup: Could this be as simple as cams?!?!?! Ahh32...any news:) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/65941-is-this-a-stroker/#findComment-1270406 Share on other sites
FATGTS-R
Hi Roy, I also have searched to no avail for the cam specs. Another GTSR owner in NSW got a rebuild done and didnt remember to get the cams checked out. The turbo is definately factory GTSR. see below. Roy
There you go Fat GTS-R...excuse my formatting, i only plotted as many points as i needed to get the general trending right :headspin: I have changed my tune, i reckon you might have a stroker of some sort:thumbsup: Even if it is only a set of oversized pistons and 2.2L, something is going on...at 3,000rpm im making 5psi and you have 14rwkws more then me....and typically im running 5-6psi more boost pressure for about the same power:confused: Id say your on a good thing with that engine, time for some more boost, say another 5psi. Based on my engine making another 20rwks with an extra 3psi, then is day you are well on your way to a nice and punchy 250-260rwkw setup:thumbsup: And having a closer look at your dyno plot at high revs, i suspect that the power drop off came from a lift off the throttle...?
