Inspection days and Discussion Items?

hey y'all

finally got a confirmed date for inspection, 9th March and 9am, canberra will be out to check the car out (and workshop?) - supposedly takes up a whole day and almost guaranteed to be discussion items at the end but i've been told it's up to the Engineer to resolve the D.I.'s but via the internet? secure server? So does this mean that the car is no longer required after the inspection day even tho there might be some D.I.'s??

just trying to work out when i can take it..

If the workshop is already a RAW it takes a day and isnt as hard as doing RAW approval and vehicle inspection at same time as it involves a lot more.

The DI's will be answered by the workshop and engineer with some hard copy documents or via the net, with most engineers packs tight it isnt holding up the approval to much it is more about the workshop and minor mistakes.

Car cant be taken till DI's are cleared and plate fitted to car.

if the DI's are cleared via hard copy or internet, what is the car needed for if they don't come out to check it again? I'm not talking about taking the car for rego, i'm talking about taking the car as soon as it's no longer needed.... i can't see why the car is physically needed if everything is done on the net??

i'm of the understanding the plate will be mailed to be, and i'll organise to put it on.

They fit the plate and vehicle cant leave the workshop till it is fitted.

is that like full-on regulations? Because they were happy to mail me the plate, and for me to get it fitted. I can't rego it without so there is no reason for me to not put it on, if i sell it i'm stuck with an un-registable car. The last thing i want, i want the bloody thing on the road.

They said they need the space, and would be happy for the car to be gone... if DOTARS has discussion items that don't require the 'physical' re-inspecting of the car... why can't i take it? they're not going to look at it again? and everything is submitted on the internet?

ok, inspection done!!! yay! exams passed and only some D.I.'s to take care of..

now, i've been told i can take the car anytime next week but i'm just wondering if anyone (DRIFTT ) knows how long D.I.'s take usually and how soon can a workshop get their plates? Was the general process from here on in?
