Anyone know Ben's time?

I saw a 1.18 as he was on top of the sheets, but he had bad luck on both of his runs. The first one i saw, a Ferrari span and hit the wall, the next run i saw, the heavens opened up. That things sounds like an absolute weapon.

A good day, I missed the rain part as I had to be elsewhere but the silver R32 GTR sounded like a JET down the main straight - awesome!

I luvs you:)

If only you said went like a jet as well i would have given you a case of beer:cheers:

And yeh, its no GTR, stocka RB20:)

I was stoked with how the car went, in the damp at days end i was driivng the car at 120% which, LOL is usually slower but so much damn fun and was doing 1:31s:)

In the only dry session i did a 1:30.062sec on my 3rd lap then cooled the old girl down as it was damn hot early in the day.

Sandown absolutely rocks, i need to know if anoyone can covert the video8 footage from my camera into an mpeg...on the 1:30 lap i hit the curb too hard on the flip flop leading onto the striahgt and tank slapped all over corner entry...like only a tru hillbilly could:thumbsup:

I was up all night watching the footage time and time again, its the first time i have had footage of the car with the new setup and love every minute of it:)

Yes sandown is a nice track, 2 long straights and a few corners inbetween.

I am also looking for someone that have a video decoder card (or whatever it is called) that can convert video footage I have on an old school VHS tape to mpg format so it can be converted to a VCD.

I think the best part of the day was the fact the Troy finally got to learn that on the track the GTR is king. He's experienced it first hand now and so now maybe he can go back to Sydney and tell all those other muppets that they have been wrong all along. LOL.

Your all weak sauces...i stick by my guns that i can do a 1:27 and with experience can do a 1:25.

Bens car is amazing, forget the grunt for a second, which is mighty impressive...you guys need to hand over some folding stuff and get your cars turning / handling like his....the grip and balance was amazing.

As for GTRs being king, meh...the particular example i went for a drive in "IS KING":)..no question, get your cars handlign like his and ill agree, until then the court jesters car can get within 1sec of the so called kings...whats going on wiht you weak sauces:)

Denham on the video side I have a dvd recorder that my vcr plugs into. Just send me the tape.

Troy if you have the data cable I may be able to do the conversion for you.

Great to hear a good day was had, and Ferraris still crash....

It's ok Troy. I'd be no fun if you had finally seen the light.

We'll still wait for the 1.25. I know the track wasn't ideal but 5s is a big jump.

LOL .... :looney:

When is the next Sandown day? 5 seconds is a big leap...but i only had the one dry session, and that practice session with you giving me tips was just rolling around checking out braking/line etc. I would have really struggled in the wet without that one practice and one timed session.

    • Convert to dual filament bulb   FWIW, it will look odd - I dare say a bit dumb as it looks like your flasher relay has shit the bed.
    • If the RB20 box in the car is a push clutch, then yes, you will need to deal with the pull clutch on the turbo box. You either buy a pull clutch and don't use the old one, or you do the things needed to convert the turbo box's clutch arrangement over to push. Which is a bit of a f**karound. "Making" a custom tailshaft is the easy part. But you will need to source the front clip yoke - the bit that goes into the output of the gearbox. These are not as easy to find. They are out there, but they don't grow on trees the way that they used to.
    • Indicator bulbs are way too bright to use as a "corner marker" (we call them parking lights too). Sure. Go ahead and do it. But realise that you wil need to come up with all your own wiring to do it, as no-one will have a standard howto worked out for Skylines. It's just a matter of abandoning everything that Nissan have done and starting from scratch. You'd probably be better off retrofitting tailght/brakelight globe bases into the front indicator housings and using the taillight circuit for your corner marker and the brake light as the indicator. You'd need to work out how to kill the marker circuit while the indicator is flashing, otherwise it won't flash on-off, just bright-less bright.
    • Hi. A little bit of an update. It maybe(hope not) looks like i would need a new tranny(it would be "maybe" a cheaper or better option anyway) So i need some info. I know i need a different propshaft(i can make custom one) LSD is not a problem cuz the engine will be still(for now) N/A RB20. So if i buy RB25DET NEO tranny...is there something else i need? I read something about push/pull type but i do not know if i need to "change" something or i can just plug n play onto my engine a go? Thanks for the advice
    • Good morning all, Bit of a random question but figured I’d finally throw it out after wondering for a long while. Before I start, I'm hoping to do this purely out of personal preference. I think it would look better at night, and don't mind at all spending a few hours and dollars to get it done. I've copied this from a non-Skyline specific forum, so I apologize for the explanation of our headlight switch setup that we all know. Here we go: Zero lights (switch off) Parking lights (switch position 1) being a rectangular marker on the outside of the housing, my low beam being the projector in the centre (position 2), and a high beam triggered by my turn signal stalk. Most North American cars I’ve owned of this era have power to the amber corner (turning indicator) light as part of the first switch (parking lights). I’d love to have these amber corners receive power when the headlights and parking lights are on (headlight switch), yet still blink when using the turn signal which is of course a separate switch. Hopefully I’ve explained my question correctly. Is anyone aware of a way in which I might be able to achieve this? Thanks in advance
