i bought a multi meter thingy today too see if there was any current going into the ignition and power wires for my headunit and it showed no charge for all the wires behind the headunit. I checked the fuses and they all seem ok.

How can i run my headunit so it has power but turns off when i turn the car off?

Dude you have to make sure that have 3 wires from the head unit:

+Constant (Norm. yellow or orange)

+Acc (Norm. Red)

-Negitive (Norm. Black)

but you also have to have them from the loom of your car behind the head unit.

if you have a multimeter it is easy, always keep the -Negitive prong (lead) of the multimeter on some part of the chasis of the car and then test with the +Red prong (lead)

when the ign is off you will fine one of the wires will always have a voltage (12v) that will be your Constant (Yellow or orange)

then you have you try differant wires whilst turning the ing on and of to find the ACC wire in the loom.

meh if you can undestand that go here: The12Volt.com

if u get this the wrong way around then your memory wont stay in your headunit and the cd will begin form the beginning eachtime u turn ignition on.

are your parkers/brake lights working?? if so then uve connected the ground to the parkers instead of ground (i learnt this the hard way)

if your clocks not working then u must've blown a fuse... i think the parkers fuse is in the engine bay... but the clock fuse is in the car.

I worked in a Car stereo shop for about 3 + years and It sounds like a fuse is blown.. I know you said you checked them but Id check them again.

80% of the time if your clock goes and your radio then they are on the same line.. Check if your interior light is working aswell.

Just my 2c Worth.

Cheers :headspin:
