I had a small prang today....not happy :bs!:

Anyway, my bonnet suffered most of the brunt of accident. Its golt a slight fold halfway in it, and the front part is crumpled.

I need either :

a) a cheap r32 Gtst bonnet (preferably in black)

B) a fibreglass Gtst or GTR bonnet.

c) a GTR bonnet.

If i go for the GTR style i obviously need the latch / front grille etc....

So, if anyone knows someone with any of the above, please send me a pm or email.

:P

yer, just hoping someone in SA had upgraded to a cf/aftermarket one, and has their old one lying around i could grab....

Good news is that their isnt any damage to the radiator support. Just the passenger side light pushed in a little...only cosmetic damage.

GTR bonnet goes on same as GTS, you'll need the catch of a GTR for it to fit though, other than that it all bolts up no probs

Mine is in next week for the fuel pump and tuning, hopefully back up to 200-210rwkw

My grill had two of the original clips on there, the other two are cable ties, as Clint says, your lights should have two tabs on each side to attach the grill to, it fits no probs

Latch is a hard one, but you need the latch as well as the support (the bracket from the radiator support that the latch bolts to) Most people end up going with bonnet pins, as these parts are very hard to find. Unley Nissan may be able to source new parts?

I was very lucky with mine, as it was from a un-damaged front cut, so everything was nice and straight.

Maybe try calling a few of the well known wreckers interstate? I will take a few pics of mine if you want, perhaps you could modify the original parts?

If the gtr bonnet falls thru then let me know, i have the one with blistered paint that you are welcome to. Just pay postage. Will need to get it painted of course...my new cf bonnet will be arriving soon i hope, dependign on how it looks i might be wantign to sell it just for a GTR alloy bonnet as im going to get it colour coded.

And Chris, im pumped car is at mechanics now getitng tuned with the way smaller 8cm housing:) Im thinking im going to have a mid range monster on my hands:)

Different dynos and different tuner, and we will be looking to see how suspect the 3" cat is, so results wont really be comparable. But i have high hopes that this tune will be on the money:)

I was winding 12 degrees extra ignition into the whole map, car had way more off boost response and boosted way harder as well, and not a hint of detonation or a knock level above low 30s (same as before)

So the car appeared to be making the laggy 222rwkws at 16psi with no effort at all, nice and safe. I fugure safe doesnt get you anywhere in this world, sure as sh1t has done nothing for me the last 12 months so "better to burn out...then to fade away":)

    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
    • So, now all you need to do is connect the 2 or 3x 12v feeds into the unit to permanent 12v, ACC 12V and IGN 12V that you can find in the spot behind the stereo, and the earth, and then it will switch on with the car.
