I'm going to buy a greddy intercooler from nengun in the not too distant future and noticed that in the description of the r/spl it says "ok for automatic transmission model". i was only planning on getting the v/spl but does this mean it is not suited to my car as I have an auto r33 gtst.

it will fit, or can be easily made to fit. The only problem you might encounter is if the oil cooler, that comes standard on the auto's to protect the tranny, has its lines going all over the place where the intercooler would sit, but this can be an easy fix if this is the case for some reason. I have the same cooler from nengen and fittted it to my auto r33 and its perfect. Mechanic thought the oil cooler 'might' get in the way, but it didnt so all was well.

i though the engine bay was the same, with the only differnece being the oil cooler...

I have bought a V-SPL kit from nengun and installed it myself on my auto R33

the transmission does not make a difference on the install and the trans cooler does not get in the way. Even with aftermarker transcooler, there's still plenty of room for it between the intercooler and radiator

There's probably some concern for the R-SPL since it is thicker than the V-SPL, thats probably why nengun put that comment there
