Installing a Clutch

How hard is it to put a new clutch into a skyline?

I'm not real mechanically minded but i'm learning fast. I'm always willing to give something new a go so I don't mind if there's a bit of hard work involved.

I think the limiting factor for me will be the tools that are needed to do it.

Tools aren't the real problem,,a basic socket set and some spanners will get you by. You would need to buy a Clutch Aligning tool though. The biggest problem is getting the flywheel off and back on for Machining. It's not really that hard,,,but a prick of a job using stands.

Give someone a few hundred dollars,sit back,relax and let them nurse there skinned knuckles.

What sort of clutch etc.

DCS in Brisbane normally do a heavy duty clutch for around the $600 installed/exchange on a skyline and $700 for a single plate brass button.

i'm not sure what clutch...that was going to be my next question.

i think i'll leave the install to someone else this time.

yeh my clutch is in the process of being replaced and from going into the workshop and looking at the car i wouldnt recommend trying it yourself unless youve got alot of time and patience

deifnately get someone else to do it!!
