It seems this is a familiar situation to some people on this board. My HICAS light goes on and my steering gets heavy. I ran the diagnostic and i think it said that i'm having troubles with my HICAS solenoid left side and my power steering solenoid. Does anyone know where these are?

On another note, my speedo decided to stop working today, which gives me another problem to solve. Any ideas as to what this is? I'm gonna check the wiring to my ecu as I recently wired up a turbo timer into it so i may have made a mistake and got the wrong wire.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

I had the same problem after the RB25DET was installed in my car. I believe it is because the speed signal hasn't been wired into the HICAS.

Given that your speedo has now failed I would say it has to be a problem with that speed signal input.

I disconnected one of the plugs (the smaller one) from the HICAS computer. This has disabled the HICAS and prevented the light from illuminating on the dash. However the steering is still slightly heavier than normal.
