still gotta plug the holes i see. did you also de-badge it? it looked unreal, especially when all i saw driving around was sil-80s and wrx's.

silver_r33, where did you get your car complied? ive seen two places, one in penrith and one in queensland. Ive been told even with shipping, its $500 cheaper to get it complied in queensland. im about 13hours from queensland.

I wanna see her at the docks when she comes in, but is that worth $500???

there are actually 6 places to get jzx100's complied, according to dotars website

DOJOBI: japs usually do less K's coz they use trains ect, for big trips. unless they play golf then that is where the higher (normal) km's come from

i would say your 99 model with 73K would be correct.

Anyone else wanna VIP stylee ducktail rear wing

There is a fair bit of stuff avail. for JZX100, incl. specialty stuff from do-luck and other well known companies.

DOJOBI: the hks 2835 is a bolt on turbo for the chaser, the gtrs would give you no lag but only 270rwkw MAX. here are some specs i found

Nissan RB26DETT 2568cc (2.6) 321hp @ 8000rpm 293lb-ft @ 4400rpm Skyline GT-R

Toyota 1JZGTE VVTi 2491cc (2.5) 290hp @ 6200rpm 278lb-ft @ 2400rpm Soarer 2.5GT-T

Toyota 2JZGTE VVTi 2997cc (3.0) 340hp @ 5600rpm 333lb-ft @ 3600rpm Supra RZ

ooo ooo. where is the ducktail wing? i like no wing, or drift wing. the one for my r33 is on the way still.

i cant manage to find anything for chasers, or JZX100s at all for that matter.

if you can link me some it would be greatly appreciated.

i was going to buy a VIP celsior so i found out all the VIP body kit makers

Ahh32 - Yeah, my km probably are accurate, it's just that I've seen so many wound back odometers that I don't know what to believe anymore. I know they use more public transport in the big cities, but not all the cars come from there. Also, if you get a car from a big city with low genuine km, then you can be pretty sure it's been sitting in traffic for the majority of them. I'd rather a higher number, but have a car that had been a highway cruiser most of its life.

btw I'd be pretty happy with a measly 270rwkw from a GT-RS :rofl:

atticus - search for these words on Google to find stuff on chasers (or speak to Vindicare. He has seen every page ever created on JZXs :P) I may have got the translations wrong as I don't speak Japanese, but they're good enough translations to find pages.

Toyota = トヨタ

Mark II = マークII

Cresta = クレスタ

Chaser = チェイサー (I think)

Tourer = アラー

JZX100 = always good for finding interesting pages

1JZ & 1JZ-GTE = good for engine related stuff

I then run them all through http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/

I don't know if you use Firefox instead of IE or not, but I use an extension for that which lets you translate a page from the right click menu. Otherwise, you'll have to load the babelfish page up each time you want to translate.

Also there's plenty of good stuff on Yahoo Auctions Japan.

Cheers,

Michael

yeah true i would much rather higway k's too.

yeah 270rwkw at 1.5bar :Bang: . plus that they make the 2835 proS :cheers: for the JZX100. the GTRS is not, but i'm sure it would still fit but. neah

Yup need to plug them holes. I've debadged it too, so the boot needs a fill and respray. Plus i need rims, need a TRD grille, and... and... :)

I got my Chaser complied in Penrith (TGB Unique Imports) and didnt actually see it in the flesh until I picked it up from the complaince shop. From memory it was $6k including tyres, and the only option at the time. Getting it done is really a hit and miss, i had no problems with TGB (except for the delays in paperwork, but that was out of their hands).

It's such a shame your car isn't the dark green, as I've got a TRD grille on mine that I don't particularly want. I think the stock one suits it best (Everyone in Japan seems to disagree with me though :P )

I think I'll just buy one on Yahoo Japan. They go for next to nothing.

is the stock one the same as on the TRAUM chaser. cos that is the better looking one.

Yeah. The red Traum one looks like it has a debadged Tourer S grille, and the gold one looks like a debadged Tourer V grille. The pics are pretty small though, so it's a bit hard to tell. The S has some horizontal chromed bars on it whereas the V doesn't.

I found these at HKS. looks like the 2835 proS will defininetly do the job, might need to get the bigger A/R (0.68 - 0.86) though as it has already reached its rated power (420ps) at 1.2bar.

Get a look at that torque, ahh i think i will be very happy when i get my chaser.

looks like it is better than the neo6 everywhere except peak power and torque.

hey all.... nice chaser, just want to know since we are on the topic here has anyone put on the bigger turbo yet to the 1jz-gte vvti?

How did you overcome the restriction of the stock AFM ? I read you guys are running a power fc , but the power fc does not allow you to change from AFM to MAP sensor?

Cheers

Yeah, that's going to be a bit of a challenge I think. I don't know if it will allow it or not, but a 90mm Q45 AFM might work. I'm not planning on going too big with my mods so that should work for me. When you run out of resolution on that I really don't know what you would do. I wonder why they changed from MAP in the TT 1JZ.

Ahh32 - they're nice dynos, aren't they. Those pics are what made me like the VVTi 1JZ in the first place. So much potential.

how big is the one for the 1UZ, (does it have one).

I am buying my 97 model at the end of the year, just gotta save up a few more $$$'s, no debt for me.

What are you guys doing with your CHASERS, fast family 4 door, or are some of u going to do a bit of circuit and drift work????

Guys.... just to let you know I am already heading down that direction.... and running outta ideas.... I have the 1jz-gte manual vvti soarer.... I am stuck on the AFM issue , I currently have replaced the stock AFM with a Q45 and "trying" to get it to work - the car idles like crap and keeps on boggin out.... the Q45 should be good for easily 400kw+ .... I am now hoping that the tuners can get my car to idle.... the power fc only if it had the map option for the 1jz vvti then it be all sweet.... just makes things so difficult..... if the Q45 doesnt work i am trying to see if i can find a z32 AFM to work on....

No idea actually. I've always been in the Nissan world, so haven't really seen many Toyota AFMs.

My Chaser will really just be a fast family 4 door. I might go to the track one day, but no drifting for me. It's an auto though, so not really suited to track work.

Celica - that's quite a rare car you've got there. Manual non-VVTi Soarers are hard enough to find! I can't see why the Q45 AFM should cause any problems, but it is worrying to hear that it isn't going so well. I just assumed if I went for high power I'd just get a bigger AFM like you did. The Q45 is the biggest I know of too, so even if the Z32 worked, it wouldn't be as good a solution as the Q45.

    • I replaced the whole clutch line with the chase bays braided hose, I think it removes that loop, is it the short hose that comes immediately off the slave or is there a drawing in the manual to find what you’re referring to? It was just re-bled when I upgraded to the nismo slave, old slave worked fine but I thought that might help, didn’t change a thing. It’s like the first half of the pedal is pushing air and then when it finally actuates the master the friction zone is tiny. Makes it practically impossible to launch the car
    • Yep, that was one of the things we learned fast in the past with our MX5. When you drive with the top down, you are effectively standing out in the sun, 100% of the time, and not getting in any shade (because roads aren't shaded generally!). Just like standing out in the middle of a field on a sunny 27C day is a bit of a bad plan, so is sitting in a MX5 without sun protection.
    • I also just ordered some Frankenstein bolts and side mounts to fit a hard top Just in case I do find one, basically so it doesn't need to be fixed to the car with only the front latch.......and then gaffa tape to keep it in place for the RTN journey from wherever I get it
    • If your temps are fine now, you probably won't have any issues with where your vents are as they don't look right up at the windscreens high pressure area, so any differences when giving it the beans for extended happy laps would be minimal, but, they should vent heaps when stuck in traffic  Much like how that reverse cowl on my SS let "visible" heat out when stationary, but, because it was basically at the windscreen my coolant temps on the Hwy actually raised because air was being fed into it at speed (110kph), to only come back down to around 90° when I got off the Hwy And your 100% correct about the NC currently not needing vents, but, if I was to add a turbo, and a oil cooler and intercooler in front of the condenserand radiator, and then take it to the track???? It is apparently a recommend requirement if I don't want to worry about coolant or oil temp issues, but, any of the above are possible scenarios, over time As it sits now, with the triple pass radiator and stock air conditioning system, I have absolutely no issues with either temps or air conditioning efficiency, I've been basically daily driving thie car for the last month, both on the Hwy, and peak hour, bumper to bumper traffic, but, that's pretty much expected from basically a standard engine  Talking about no issues daily driving, it was 39° the other day and I was sitting in bumper to bumper traffic on the M5 and then M7, with the top down, and with the air conditioning blowing nice cold air on my feet, balls, and face, well, there was one issue, my head and arms got pretty sun burnt Note to self: leave a hat and sunscreen in the car for such days 🤣
    • I would agree, unless you need something specific to the HV motor/battery side repaired or investigated, any mechanic will be able to perform normal services, but if you prefer, maybe look for a mechanic who regularly services/repairs Nissans, the VQ engines are pretty common in the Nissan lineup.  Sorry, I can't make any suggestions, I don't live in Vic.
