thinking of getting a blitz intercooler of a guy on the forums but heard a few things about the pipes sticking out from under the front bar and also that the 90 degree angle on the return pipe is a bit of a restriction. on the flip side ive read some pretty good reviews for them on these forums also. just wanna get a general idea what ppl reccomend on my r34GTT. price doesnt really matter as i'll pay what i need.

my car currently has 195RW KW has exhaust, filter and 0.8 bar boost. will be putting front mount, high flow turbo, headers, upping boost at minimum. depending on how much power that gives me. so with these mods in mind what would people reccomend.

any info would be appreciated

cheers

the guy doesnt know which kit is it. he said its the good one so maybe the V spec LM cooler? but not 100% gonna che3ck it out this week. but i need info anyways as i need a front mount so any info would be great

i have the nissan sports front bar apparently pics in this thread http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=66939

and headers as in off the motor into the single throttle bodie

As to headers I guess you're talking about an aftermarket exhaust manifold. Not really necessary unless the new turbo you are going for wont fit the stock manifold.

Also I think you mean 180 degree turn on return pipe. The kit I use makes it a little better but unless you want to cut a hole in your bodywork it's a necessary evil.

so are you saying thjat the blitz is a good cooler to buy?? do u know if it has any benefets over opther kits??? im just a little worried about the return pipe being so low as i intend to lower my car a little more than it is at the moment and dont wanna be scvrapping. also what kind of retrictions does thet 180 degree turn have as im doing this for performance not fuel economy.

cheers

I like it cos it uses the original holes for the pipework. You get no extra power from installing an aftermarket intercooler in an R34 but it allows you to run more boost more safely. Also I had some surge issues which it solved.

There is a little loss in responsiveness because of the length of the piping but I prefer to have the option of returning the car to stock at some later stage if I want to.

ssslpr how much are you willing to spend on the cooler including installation ?

I got mine done for a bit over $2K, its a full custom job and uses all the holes the original cooler used so no cutting involved.

The cooler itself is 600x300x100. These are the dimensions I wanted and there were no bolt on jap ones that had these dimensions hence the reason why I went custom.

Job was done by Race Solutions in Penrith.

I have a Blitz LM kit on mine and the return pipe does sit about 5cm below the front bar and I had to trim the undertray around it. However it isn't an issue as if you're going to scrape that pipe you're going to scrape your car. Only thing to watch out for would be the concrete blocks in car parks that stop you getting too close to the gutter.

Btw I paid $1311 retail for the kit and fitted it myself for reference. It's really not that hard to fit yourself and abo bob's instructions are excellent, although I hacked a bit off the front bar support to sit mine up higher.

As for the piping returning through the stock piping being worse than over the engine bay, I call bullshit as the difference in length is really insignificant. I did notice a tiny bit more lag but very very minor - compared to my trust side mount.

Same place you got yours, but they had a 25% off sale and they had one in stock  From what I can tell from your pictures, mine is a few cms higher but not an awful lot.

Mine hangs down for two reasons:

1. I have an oil cooler and a transmission cooler so I couldn't move the transmission cooler like you did. So it's not quite on the angle back that it should be. If I did move it, I think it would still hang down a tiny amount.

2.The design isn't quite correct because its too wide to fit between the metal headlight supports and can NOT be put as high as the directions state even if the support bar is cut.

shonen im willing to spend what i nbeed to as im going for a street and strip car. i want pretty high power output by the end of it. i got reccomended an ARC one. th eguy said it has teh best flow out of all the jap ones. what kind of flow is in your cooler and do you have any pics??? do u have the places number taht did your cooler or any other info?

cheers
