I heard about it on one of the Forums and came down for a look. Enjoyed the tyre frying - Roy did real good for his first time on track!

Every time I go to Calder Park I get more and more annoyed with it - Its a really lousy track I rekon. Itd be good if they build a purpose built drift track somewhere because I rekon theres a Lot of People into It. I personally wouldnt take a car to calder, 3 corners, high prices, cement walls and generally low speed sliding. Im sorry but its a Joke. I wudnt wanna send my car into the wall and for just 3 corners! Not worth it.

Ive been to a Few Drift comps over back home In WA and I can tell ya the track back there - collie - is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better and guys actually drift the whole circuit, which is free of cement walls, and nice sweeper corners and series of links.Smooth bitumen as well. High Speed entertaining drifting. Its not a wonder why the WA boys do so well in the Drift Nats. Sadly over there theres no organisations like Fullock or anyone having drift practice days etc. Over here there lucky to have the organisation, but not the track.

So is there any Talk of a track coming up or maybe another more suitable venue? I havent been to Winton or Sandown, but are they any better?

mate ur preaching to the wrong people...

u think we like calder? its a hole... but its also a lot more difficult than most tracks around australia and thats why this track sorts the boys from the men... the one in mallala is much more forgiving as are a lot of the tracks around australia.

so if ur like the NZ drivers and the Japanese drivers (or that psycho matt sampson) Calder is actually quicte a good track for drift.

Drift isnt judged on the whole track... just sections... thats the idea.

Getting the governemt to build a track here in melbourne is like trying to pull gold from a dolphins arsehole... it aint going to happen unless someone wins lotto and funds it themselves.

It shouldnt be up the govt to build one:)

I wouldnt be surprised if Calder does build such a facility now that the track is goign to be round for a long time to come.

That said, Winton is the perfect place to hold such as event...but ppl seem to hate the fact that they have to drive for 2 hours, goes to show how keen (or not) they really are:(

people drive hours to drift at the track at Gippsland park... others drive 6 hours and truck there cars to Adelaide, NSW and Queensland so i highly doubt people cant be considered keen.

dont see many people taking there cars to NSW for a track day now do u? :(

I'm gonna do eastern creek when I get my car to a level i'm happy with.

I keep hearing too many things coming out of NSW about GTST's being faster than GTR's. I'm sure Andrew will want to take this challenge aswell.

Yeah I mangaged like 5 photos before the camera died (forgot to charge the battery - oops) - there is also video footage but the camera didnt seem to like focusing on anything except the lights and smoke once it got dark. Chris has the footage - ill check with him how its coming along.

    • Dry sump? Is that like where you don't put oil in, and leave the car parked in the garage because it's worth so much now and is like a beautiful museum piece? 😛
    • Nissan Fuga Y50 2009 VQ35HR 313 hp / 230 kW RWD Also sold as Infiniti M overseas. Performance sedan built on the same chassis as Skyline V36 or Infiniti FX. Great colour with a fantastic velour interior. Very quiet and fast car (<6s 0-100), but can also be very economical for performance (long-term average consumption 11/100 km) I imported it five years ago, and it was well looked after. It has a full service history and a balance of ACT rego. There are no finance or PPSR issues with the car. Has all the features you'd expect from a luxury car. ABS brakes Stability control Traction control Dual-zone climate control Power and memory front seats and steering column Power passenger ottoman Smart key access Push button start 2 parking cameras Steering wheel audio controls Adaptive radar cruise control AFS aiming headlights Xenon HID headlights Security system Original Nissan remote start system Two original keys Dual-channel dashcam Blackvue 750 with PowerMagicPro for battery-aware parking recording Regularly serviced with a lot of major items done: Full new original Nissan suspension shocks throughout Performance CSF radiator Recent tyres, less than 10k on them New drive belt New bonnet struts Brakes recently done The car comes with a fully converted AV system with Australian GPS maps, DVD, and radio ($2k job). I really love this car, but I have too many cars and too many Nissans in the family, so unfortunately, I need to sell it. Priced at $18500 The car can be seen in Curtin. Thank you for your attention.
    • Here are a few photos.  The car is auction grade 4.5B and a genuine 1 owner car, as far as I can tell...  It has a full service history with only 31,000km in it.  I'd love to put a midpipe and tune on it but I am thinking that I'll retain its originality.
    • I can be grumpy!  After owning one of the first GTRs in the country, I was bitten by the nostalgia bug and started the hunt for a GTR again.  While I could have bought a car locally, I wanted to experience the search for a car in Japan and bidding at auction.  The above videos document my experience to date and hope forum members find them interesting and informative.  I was after a low mileage, completely stock car in the launch colour and am pretty stoked with what I got!
    • Did you calibrate the throttle in the Haltech? It might be falling in and out of the closed loop strategy, especially if the car has been tuned on different TPS voltages.
