can my 33 be tune without aftermarket ECU?

Nope stock r33 ecu's cant be tuned without a SAFC.

ummm to be exact you cannot tune the ecu directly, however you can use and interceptor unit such as the safc or unichip etc and tune that to alter the signals to the stock ecu.

Personally unless you plan to modifye more in the future it may not be worth the dollars.
