Cold Starts

Recommended Posts

The problem you are having is that on colder mornings the computer uses the water temperature of the car to decide how much additional fuel to add to the engine, until the engine/water temperature is normal. I know that with the R33 there is some type of sensor on the plenum chamber that should compensate for the temperature, maybe your's is not working properly.

I have aftermarket management so I can fully adjust the amount of fuel added at cold start. If you don't have programmable managment then I'm not sure what the answer is, speak to a tuner, i.e. Steve at SST.

It's not going to do any harm but it can be annoying having a car that jerks and stalls in the morning.

i used to experience that problem when i used to own a lancer.

it can easily be solved by running some injector cleaner through the car. run this rich by using the injector cleaner in when theres hardly any fuel left.

another way i fixed the jerkiness of my car when starting it was by using high quality fuel. in this case i used BP Ultimate. maybe you're using cheap fuel? remember to always use high octane fuel. this will ensure your skyline will remain in good condition:)

Using it when your fuel is low?

That kinda defeats the purpose doesn't it?

When your on low the bottom of the tank is all gunk, so ur burning some contaminates, i can see by adding the injector cleaner mite of cleaned it , but doing that wouldn't make sense??

Am i wrong??

My R33 has a VSPEC diff in it, that means it has both the traction control and Active LSD like that found in the VSPEC. These came from the Nissan factory like that, I know of only a couple other people in Aus. with them. The Active LSD is really cool for high speed cornering.
